So is any going to mention the Skye Reserves team at all yet?? Blac04 I seen you there on Saturday, what did you think of them??

Will the Skye reserves venture to Barry Powell to play Lyndale in this Cascade Challenge? I believe that the pumas are keen to have the game.

yeah, only saw 1 and a bit 1/4's. looked the better team, but speaking to dandy 2's coach, they had more than a few out and had some blokes playing there 1st or 2nd games. they won't hit there straps for another 3-4 weeks. should be a good game in 2 weeks, we should match up well i think, but, we are only looking at the canterbury game at the moment! ask me again next saturday night!:thumbsu:

interested to get your thoughts on skye v doveton frank!
Hard to say, would need to see them against better opposition than us. We only traled 4.8-2.2 at the half against Skye, and could hear them getting a fair spray at half time. They kicked 12 goals to 0 after the half. I wasn't convinced you guys had much run in your team, and that you were a lot bigger than us. Skye on the other hand have lots of runners and ran hard all day, and answered emphatically when under pressure at half time. Then again, you guys are playing well it seems, and both of you have good wins against Dandy. The difference in your form lines is the Mount Waverley game.

Skye have a man mountain that starts in the ruck, but I actually think Pat Malone was a better ruckman for them, more agile and did more around the ground. Their forward line scored at will in the second half against us. There's a blonde guy named Thommo who played in the middle towards the end who I said I'd give a mention to, lol. Vinny O'Connor is their coach and best midfielder, number 2, and will wander off by himself to lose his opponent.

How's that massive forward for you guys going, I think they called him Gus? Looked possibly Maori or something. You guys also play very tall on the ball, you'll have to use that to your advantage as a couple of Skye's midfielders were shorter. I don't really feel qualified to comment on other teams, as we didn't give you a lot of opposition and didn't give Skye any in the second half, so it's not a real indicator of how good you guys are going. At the moment I'd say Skye, they seem to have taken all before tem at this stage.

Also, to give my credibility a further battering, I'm going to tip that South Yarra reserves will be on at least 12 pts at the halfway mark. We should beat Cerberus and still have the bye to come. A few players out this week, but we'll definitely try our guts out against Mount and see what happens. Anyone else here played against both South Yarra and Cerberus and can give thoughts? Wouldn't be surprised if we get Sandown and Canterbury next half of the season too. The Lions are on the improve, no doubt about it.

Yer they where great, there it's said that trophy will look good in the cabinet,we all play for 2's flags don't we get serious.Aren't clubs their to win senior flags yes harsh but true. That Is All

Fair go clown, no one said anything about them winning a flag, I just thought they deserved a mention on this particular topic on the forum due to them being UNDEFEATED!!!

God you can get nasty when you havent jerked off!!!

Haven't seen you guys play yet, but after watching Cerberus on the weekend it would be a worring sign if you couldn't get the points against them.
Not sure if many of them have ever played footy before. Thats what it looked like anyway.

Enemy,
The Pizza man has gone to Nilma Darnum. Reading the herald sun today, looks like they got smashed by a casual 16 goals on the weekend.
None of us are game to get pizzas from him anymore, don't think some of us would be welcomed back in with open arms. Actually I am reasonably confident a couple of us would find our way added to the toppings list on the Godfather special.

Mount's ruckman stopped in for a look at our game, apparently was with the Yarras a few years ago, massive guy.

Yeah pete seiffert is his name(big bald bloke) You have to run him around early. Frankencow he wants to smash you and then eat you for breakfast. He doesnt rate the yarra 2's think there are very soft, hopefully you can prove him wrong. Then again he said black rock and syke 1's where crap aswell but i thought they where pretty good. Then again if we hurt black rock on the scoreboard in first half things may have been different.

I think joyce will have to ruck this week as dildo may struggle against a giant 65 kilos heavier than him.

Mundy and BigRich will be missing as well, could struggle for a team.

Oh no you may have to forfit. I expect rory smeaton to stand up, did some good things last saturday. Dont forget that big vulture may return. As long as he doesnt kick torps in the wet he will go well:D

Henry's definitely back up to the ones, probably taking Franga's spot as he has slipped a disc, which is apparently pinching his sciatic nerve. It took him about 5 minutes to get out of my car the other day, his back is rooted.

Hopefully i'll be right. Can't make it down to training tonight but will give it a test on Thursday night and hopefully i get through. We wont be forfiting, we will get the required numbers comfortably with a few senior players coming back, as well as Muzza and Dildo is also a chance.
The torp can be a very useful kick in wet weather Dutchman but being the wet weather specialist that you are, i guess you are already aware of this.

tips for this week!

skye v sandown- have seen both sides play and skye look more dangerous. sandown may be a chance if they can get todd back from the one's. skye by 40 points

canterbury v doveton- should be a close game, but i would be dissapointed if we didn't get the points. doveton by 20 points

mt waverley v sth yarra- sorry to the yarra boys. hopefully you guys get some players back from the one's. if you can hold no. 8 and find some good forward options you may be a chance. mount by 30 points

b/rock v dandy- dandy are getting some guys back now and will start to look like the demons of old. will be too strong for the rockers. dandy by 40 points

cerberus have the bye and will claim one of two wins for the year.

Would agree with you blac, except for our game of course. ;) We've been competitive with some teams and smashed by others. The competitive teams all seem to be playing the ones who smashed us this week. To lose to us, I'd suggest Black Rock aren't much chop. Canterbury saw us off by 3 points, and aren't great either. We outscored Sandown 8 goals to 6 in the second half, whilst Skye smashed us. Mick Rossburgh wasn't bad against us, getting a lot of touches in defence, and the mail I have is that they're looking to sack him. Wonder what the consequences will be for the other Rossburghs, whether they will stay with Sandown or follow Mick elsewhere (and he says he'll play elsewhere). Luke is also pretty important to Sandown's twos.

You should beat Cerberus. Very unskilled and undisciplined. They started to flood against Skye and was the only time they looked in the game.

Bad news yarra's might have up to 6 players out for Mount Waverley game. kel is unavailable due to his wife having a baby, franga(back), roachy, brady, Coutta (back again) and a few others i cant quite remember. 2's will really be tested with depth.:(

The dutchman is a dry track specialist.

Stoo said he had a couple of mates to come down. Might tell him to make sure they're there on Thursday night.

Chey and Vulture back in for Mundy and Rich hopefully. Mick from Bonnie Doon and Barry didn't play last week, hopefully Danny comes back too.

Roachy and Brady were out last week as well, so that's no different.
