mount must be a GREAT team to have beaten dandy!! just ask mpb!! all credit must be given to the mountain lions!!:rolleyes:

WELL PLAYED GUYS, JUST A SPEEEECIAL WIN!

TOSS!

I'm not saying we are an awesome side..
we are having a good season considering the rotation policy we have in place (meaning we never play our best side despite if every player is available)..
but for us, dandy was a crucial game for us considering we were only 1 game & 1 spot above them on the ladder, and since we were playing them
at their homeground, we were expecting a tough, close contest.
But to our credit, it wasn't as tough as we thought it would be.

Have next week off, but just looking at the draw there doesn't seem to be any games I think could go either way to go watch. Should be wins for Doveton, Dandy, Mount and Skye. From our perspective, Doveton was the most impressive against us, though Skye showed a fair bit to overcome a slo first half and just totally bury us. Mount were btter than us without really putting us away until late. I suspect maybe they played some of their lesser guys as part of their rotation. I played on some guy on the wing, short tanned bloke with blonde dyed hair, who would have to be the hungriest wingman since Nick Coutts. Spent a lot of time sitting in the forward pocket and was begging me to give him a high tackle so he could jut kick one by the end, lol. That Gags from Sandown was good for Mount though, is he twos every week or pushing for ones?

haha yeah you would of played on matt parella.. he's a funny guy.. he's got a lot of grunt and intensity.. very hard at it player.. if he could be quicker with getting his kicks away he could be a very damaging player..
but also on playing our lesser guys, we did rotate a lot more than we normally do. Plus we rotated a lot more of our starting 18 than we normally do as well. I don't want to discredit south yarra's playing ability, but we knew we were in for a certain win (well we were 90% sure we were going to win.. you never know what happens on any given day).
So we took that game as an oppurtunity to rest or rotate as many people as possible, because a lot of guys were getting pissed off with missing out on games even though their playing form doesn't warrant it.
But the rotations have helped our side though, because when guys come back into the side, they usually try to make the most of it, because they don't want to be rotated again.

Gags from Sandown has been great for us running off the half back line..
he has predominantly played 2's.. i think he's played one game in the 1's, but I'll admit he looked a bit lost out there in that game. I reckon though if he was given a few games in the 1's, he would adapt and player a lot better. But he is an example of what M-Lion says about our depth this year to cover regular 1's players compared to last year.

Was only on him for the last quarter, and we didn't really get many disposals away, just tackled each other a lot, lol. Seemed like a good bloke.

Dildo has been very good for us in the ruck and was all over Pete Seiffert imo. Haven't really seen him beaten this year even though he's stick thin, our midfielders are still learning though. I also think Pat Malone was far better against us than the bigger bloke (Dildo missed that one with injury though). Didn't mind McDonald from Dandy either. What do you reckon of the rucks you've played blac04? Not sure who rucked for us against you, Dildo was out though. Would have been either a bloke with long sleeves named Hadley, or a bald bloke named Mundy.

Hey Cow you think we will get a side together to tackle Moorabbin this weekend i think a few boys could do with a hit out against some better opposition the hopefully take what they learn into the following week against Dandenong.

I'd love to Rich, but I could only find about 5 blokes willing to on Saturday night. We don't have training tomorrow due to te Bye so I think it's not going to happen.

best at centre bounces was probably roddas from skye. massive unit, the only bloke i havn't been able to move. doesn't get alot of it around the ground though. i see big dave rossbourough played for sandown on saturday, he is similar to roddas. bart macdonald(aka- jim stynes) is good. easy to beat body on body but has a great leap. the only side i don't know about is b/rock. will find out this week though!

That big rodders from skye is a very hard man to get a tap against. I wish would kick it more rather than looking for the quick handball. That boot of his can be quite damaging.

Yeah the skye ruckman has been the best so far they we've played against..
he was too athletic and had a too big of a leap for any of our ruckmen we had palying for us that day..
Because it was in the middle where we got smashed the most by skye..

What else have skye got? key foward or CHB? if your going to beat them were do you have to shut down? (got them this week;))

old fella in the middle, no. 54, paton i think, as i said, an older fella but knows how to get it! no.2, vinny o'connor, tag him, but you need a couple of blokes or 1 who is superfit. doesn't stop running. we got on top in the middle and started to control the game a bit more. no real key position players to worry about, more the runners!:thumbsu: has jimmy.d got over his quad for you blokes?

Vinny O'Connor, number 2. Totally agree, needs to be tagged. Will try to slip it and get free, stay with him even when your side has it nowhere near him. I honestly liked Pat Malone in the ruck more than the big bloke, maybe it was just the game against us. What do any of the Skye blokes think about those two?

Skye's real strength is their running in numbers in my opinion. They've got some big bodies (Vinny excluded).

No Doubt Vinny O'Connor is Skye's best midfielder, but they have two older blokes who seem to get heaps of the ball. Pat Malone was in the bests in the ones last week so obviously he has impressed in the two's.

Rich, Hilly's ringing around about the Moorabbin game. Told him to give you a call.
no call as of yet but id guess he would know id be in anyway.
Remember all you Yarra boys training tomorrow night then up to Sofias for dinner everyone better be there to support them as there one of our sponsers.
