Smartest idea ever, Doveton/Hallam, H/P/Lyndhurst, Lyndale/Dandenong the list goes on, too many egos to merge, half of something is better than being stuck in the wilderness for years going nowhere

Doveton will be in Div 1 next year, why would they want to merge with a club like Hallam? :drunk:

Doveton FC not the Eagles, would give Doveton an in to Southern and not play in a comp up in the hills
Doveton FC could have gone across tot he SFNL long ago if they wanted to. Going through a lean patch at the moment but they will find their feet again.
Lyndhurst has only been in existence for a few years, I can't see why they would want to merge with an existing club like HP

So it becomes Lyndhurst Hampton Park Football club, just like in the 50's and 60's as Hampton Park were formerly known as!

What is old is new again!

The standard is garbage, only 3 sides that are competitive, Springy and E/Hills should both go up with the bottom two in Div2 coming down because they’re garbage too
Sorry The Delegate, i was referring to the top 4 sides comparing to Div 3 in 2016! my error in not being clear with my post!

Another thing why would there be a walkout at HP, with EH and Springy most likely going up they’d be almost guaranteed a premiership and I’m hearing a lot of blokes in Sefnl aren’t keen on heading up to play in the hills, I know for a fact a lot of kids will be looking for a home as there won’t be an U19 comp in Sefnl either, we’ve got some rippers at Narre but not good enough to play ones as yet, if clubs are smart they’d grab em

Send em down to the blackrock hanger old mate , Bruce Wayne ( Batt) oozes enthusiasm and will take the club where it needs to go , just needs some young numbers around him.

Doveton wanted to come this year and were told no.

You’re right on Lyndhurst. I think HP made an approach a couple of years back and Lyndhurst went there own way instead.

I can’t see all of the current clubs lasting much longer.

Referring to what happened at Hallam last year, spending big and going out in straight sets. Not that I think what happened at Hallam will happen at H.P.
Afl Outer East offering U19’s, Under 18’s or both. Looking at Divisional footy in Unders. Narre strong in juniors for last 16 years or so.

HP should be showing the door to a few. Paying way overs to finish 3rd. Money could be spent better surely

HP not happy with their straight set exit have made application to the league that they must play in Div 4 in 2019 or be released back to SEFNL.

Enjoy being released back to a league that doesn’t exist any more
Correct. That way they will get that elusive flag. Atm the flatbtrack Home and Away bully’s cant handle the heat of finals and as a fe posters state looks like heading down the Hallam path with mass exodus for next year. By requesting the league puts them in Div 4 this may help them keep the highly paid Prima donas for at least one more year

They could merge the Hallam park redhawks

Hampton park were beaten by better sides on the day in both finals. had chances against springy but couldn't get over the line. the prelim was a different story. EH the far better side all day. no excuses can be made.

but to suggest this is a failed year or that the club will fold is absurd. I understand the angst against the new boys in the comp and the dispensations given but this club has seen a lot worse than an early finals exit. I've never seen a div 3 game in sfnl until this year but I am sure the standard set by the top 3 teams in 2018 has been better than ever

As disappointed as HP would be, they would be wrapped with the revival of their club and supporter base I would have thought. Be interesting to see the moves made in their off season and what type of players they recruit. Should keep this thread ticking over anyway!

Having watched all finals so far ( small sample I know) I’d say the Mount Waverley side of 2 years ago was a better side than this years top 3. Last years top 4 all would have been around the same mark as this years crop. The top half has always been reasonable sides in div 3. It’s the lack of depth that has plagued the division.

I think the 4th division will help build the depth as the sides that come up have had a chance to build without the huge beltings they have been getting over recent years. I’ve heard some talk of going back to 3 divs. I hope they keep 4.

If Hallam had’nt had a walkout last year, the comp would’ve been better again, sides like Black Rock and Sth Yarra are quite plucky and on their day are quite good.
Hopefully they keep div 4 next year.

Mass walkout at HP after winning 16 games in a season, would have thought it would’ve happened a while ago after winning a couple of games in 5 years, we’ll run club by all reports, only a matter of time until they get a flag

Straight sets gums? Wat happened? I for one am wrapped was a great day down at the hanger with you boys this year can't wait for next year , You boys fit RIGHT into div 3 where I placed you at the start of the year , money don't talk heart does

I'm Buggered if I know... ??

I have just awoken from a drunken all week bender hoping it was a just bad dream..... unfortunately it was not.

But … I can see a rainbow at the end of the Tunnel…. the 2s Flag IS in the bag.

I hope ;)

It's ok... I just Googled it.

Congrats to Springvale both 1s and 2s... now pissssss off to Div 2 and leave us alone.
