Shane Wakelin Tribute Thread

I was always a big fan of Wakes. Especially after he continued playing - obviously not expecting to get much game time - and has had to hold up the backline over the past couple of years. I was quite annoyed when he wasn't getting a place for the finals...

Anyway, I am hoping this isn't true. I want to witness some more Wakelin goals

Sorry about deleting the thread but I thought without a link to a story it would get howled down. I know Smoky actually does have a credible source I just didn't like the name of the thread as it was so definite and official. I should have changed the name to rumour: Wakelin to retire. However it's seemingly been proven true even if there's no official announcement.

Surprized, but not shocked. Shane was never someone who chased the spotlight - true team player - True clubman.

makes the send off he arranged for Harvey very touching since it was likely his last game and would have been well within his rights to have our boys clap him off not be out there organising a line up for Harves.
