Watson

I think Watson will do alright,
I couldnt see Sheeds getting rid of him in a hurry.

It means that you'll only see one or sometimes two of Misiti, Peverill and Watson in the centre at any one time.

It means that Alvey, Winderlich, Reynolds, Murphy and Ramanauskas will get more opportunities than they might have otherwise.

Considering Misit one was of our best players last week, what does that leave us. the big problem at the moment is JJ. How woefully out of form is he. His man racked up the ball and he was completely inefficient. He needs to be freed up to play a running game, cause if he can;t do that, not certain for how many years longer he will be in the midfield.

Footspeed is overrated.

How often is it a footrace, anyway? And when it is, the player that gets it, is under pressure to dispose of the ball immediately.

Greg Williams was slow, yet was one of the greatest centremen of all time. Misiti is slow, but who cares when you get the ball 25 times a game. Quick thinking, and quick decision making, are far more important. They can make you look quick. Once you kick the ball 50 metres, it's travelling 5 times as fast as someone can run anyway. Now that's speed!

Actual footspeed, is largely irrelevant. Is Robert Harvey fast? No.

I think it's more important off the ball - running into position and such, and staying with your opponent when he does the same. Misiti has been great but his work is best utilised when he has quicker, and smarter (as rohan connolly wrote today), blokes around him, something i think we're lacking.

Btw Harvey is quicker than Misiti, Rioli and Hird - 3 of our best midfield options.

Yeah Alvey really should have been given a game last week against port. Atleast he has pace and has 50 games experience. We played far too many inexperienced players last week against a quality team interstate.

he's had a year off with football, and he's at a new club.. they probably want him to have a few games in the magoos to find his feet... when he finally notices them attatched at the end of his legs, they'll give him a game.
