A bit of a catch 22 here for Queensland. How long do you bat for? I'd go for 20-odd overs and try to get that lead over 150 and then declare

How far away from the test side would Neser be?

Has to be next in line now, 5-32 on that road and then backing it up with a ton is a big effort

Big effort but the runs are hopefully irrelevant in a way. He’s not getting picked as a top 6 batsman yet and so needs to be picked on merit as a bowler, not as someone who takes a bowling spot because he can hold the bat.

Another strong season from Neser should hopefully spell the end of the Mitch Marsh test match experiment

Doran just so few scoring shots. I can't see him getting his career really going unless he finds a way to score a bit quicker. Generally has a strike rate in the 30s. It's just way too low as a middle order player. Doesn't put any pressure on bowlers and they can just dot him up until he gets out. Will eek out a score every now and then, but it's not a sustainable way to form an innings.

To be fair to him today, runs are the last thing the Tasmanians are worrying about.

Yeah there will be the odd occassion that he is suited to, but for his career, this is pretty close to the norm. Career strike rate of 37. Still only 23 so has time on his side, but he's got significant areas to work on.

Still better than Bryce Street’s SR. Why care about SR’s in long form cricket?

It's going to be tight whether or not Queensland win this. Wasted time yesterday, who knows what could have happened if they had 10 more overs opposed to 50 more runs?
