well if that is the case.
then why dont we play a full strength line up and have a go at the cup?

Yep. Needs to get used to a new system and new teammates. And I have no doubt that the club will have a crack at winning it just like last year. Although I hope we manage guys like Medders, Presti, Lockyer, Fraser, Cloke and any of the others with niggles. No need to run them into the ground that early in the year.

No way.

His runs are on the board, let some of the list cloggers, show us their wares.

result means nothing in Feb

I would play Ball, as pointed out, to give him some exposure to MM's style, but try to get Dawes, Reid and maybe a few of the other young blokes who've had little AFL game time some experience and a taste.

I have no great desire to win the Nab cup but we should use it to the full.

I'd leave this call up the the fitness staff and Ball himself.

If he believes he is ready to go, he can play in the first NAB Cup game, as with the extended interchange our rotation policy in the midfield will mean he won't play a lot anyway.

I would like to see him play about 1/2 the game in effective ground time.

It might be the perfect match for a debut against his old club in the nab cup and that way when we play Rossy's mob at the start of the season ...the ice will have already been broken... by the way thanks again rossy ;):D:D

If fit and ready to go. Play him.

Needs to learn team structures and increase his familiarity and coherance with our midfield.

I would go the other way and save him for the season to first play against the Saints. He will want to have a ripper the first time he plays his old mob actually every time he plays them but the first time he will go nuts. So lets save it for the four points not the pre season where it doesn't mean anything.

What if he grabs the ball out of the centre. brushes off Wellingham and Cheesey and slots one straight to Roo on a lead?:eek::eek::D

Nah i reckon keep Bally on ice till nearly the season proper starts, same with Jolly.
There are a lot of other players that need to show their wares. We know what we a re getting with jolly and ball.

I'd play rusling and dawes up forward.Rest Clokey and jack Anthony
Lets see how players like Josh Thomas,Simon Buckley stack up in the midfield ,good practise, remember no flags are won in february,i wouldn't risk top players like ball and jolly before season begins.

Problem with that is they won't be use to our GameStyle and new teammates at RD 1 as they should if they play NAB Cup/Challange Games

Yes i agree your right but my worry is that either of them don't get injured, in games that mean stuff all.
Play them say a few weeks before season proper begins, that will ease them in and ready for proper action when the real stuff starts.

They could be Injured in Practice Games or Even Practice
