19 tackles from a midfielder, in a game when Butters and JHF got caught every time they took possession, was pretty influential from Berry. My top 3 would have been:

3. Berry

I don't think it's that, but his record in recent Showdowns is not of a big game player. It's the same in finals. He can't fight his way through the congestion. Almost becomes unrecognisable in the way he goes about it, and when he does get a hint of space, he rarely kicks efficiently.

I think his disposal has been off for at least the last 2 games. And I haven't looked at disposal efficiency stats, just what I've observed. Sometimes wants to thread the needle when much simpler options would do.

His good is good. If his opponent was Milera tonight, then he probably cost us the game though. The fact that he trailed Milera to that last bouncing ball that came out of defensive 50 and couldn't effectively pin the tackle is evidence of that. Cost us the game as much as any play.

I’m talking strictly about him as a forward.
This year he’s most probably our best goal kicking forward apart from MG
He’s definitely our most accurate one.
He’s doing the job we drafted him for to kick goals.
We have much bigger problems than him.

Why is Carr and the new coaching staff unable to identify the issue?

We've got arguably a less talented 22 on paper out there tonight, and almost won despite playing pretty poorly.

They had 2 rotations down for 3 quarters , coming off a 5 day break with a second string side out there and won territory all night. We shouldn't have even got that close. What world are you in? You can't compare it to last years games. Any half decent side beats the crows tonight by 10 goals. We are still a rabble.

What’s the difference between finishing 11th and 17th this year? It just hurts our draft bidding. If we only win a handful of games, but finish with a percentage around 100% that would be a phenomenal result for us.

We are not challenging for finals this year, so yes wins are irrelevant. Competitiveness and effort aren’t.
