I would have thought a new coach would bring a new game plan?

Any truth that Hampton are looking at joining div 4 and just having a senior side?

Ridiculous if true, cant keep having teams dictate what division they play in. If you have enough players to field a team in div 4 then just play in your original division. Every division is going to have one or two easy beats

Completely agree.

East Brighton & Clayton have had to endure some almighty beltings for a year until they could go down and rebuild.

The situation with Doveton was an absolute farce where they won the flag and then dropped a division.

The SFNL really sh*t the bed on that one.

And they got belted in div3 and now in div4 so I don't understand your argument.

Why should they get to dictate which division they play in just because they spent beyond their means to buy a flag?

They made their bed so they should have to lie in it.
Mate they were on the verge of folding and still are even in div4. The league has allowed them to survive and that's what's best for local footy! I have more problems with Sandown taking the easy way out and playing 3rds footy.

And what about South Yarra asking to drop down to division 4 because they dont have enough players to fill a side. Then in the same year, winning a senior flag and having 3 senior sides?

Maybe they should've invested in youth a long time ago & pursued a link with East Sandy JFC, rather than give Hampton Rovers a free ride year in year out. Yes they've tried a token merger with Highett for U/19s a number of years back but haven't really invested in kids. Now they're asking 40 something year olds to answer the SOS

It's late March and they had 7 players a week ago. I think that probably qualifies as extreme circumstances. Some people have come together to ensure the club doesn't die. What's the point of having a team getting beaten by 300 points every week in the league's second-best comp?

Maybe the better way to think about it is that the club has folded. They're out. They've just managed to retain a one-team presence in D4. That might make some people feel better.

As for the league picking and choosing, doubt any club with less than 10 players a couple of weeks out from the first bounce would be treated any different.

I must of watched a different game, was shocking, skills below par.
all the hype I've been hearing dandy won't make the top 4.
Their skills weren’t the greatest I agree but I think they will improve, probably not top 4 but I don’t think they will finish bottom.

Interesting to see your ladder predictions for the year?
no particular order im going with

Frankston-recruited to well to not finish top 2
Lyndhurst hallam you no what to expect from both not alot of clearances out few ins def top 4
cerberus prob abit of an unknown but will win enough games to finish top 4.

Hampton have 1 side but does anyone actually know how many of there senior core have left? can pencil in if they start well a few blokes will think an easy flag and return

Dandy will suprise alot of sides in the top 4 even pinch a win or 2 against a contender. credit has to go to them all down there tho recruited alot of young blokes in there and got themselves in a good financial position I hear from a mate there.
From watching Saturday there seemed to be alot of helpers behind the scenes.

eagles ,pumas , sth Mornington bottom 3
