My tip is there will be a few teams forfeiting their reserves and even seniors games throughout the season. Numbers are low as it is at most clubs and im sure another wave will hit during the winter. Which could potentially give dandy/hallam a few extra wins. Could be a suprising top 4

no particular order im going with

Frankston-recruited to well to not finish top 2
Lyndhurst hallam you no what to expect from both not alot of clearances out few ins def top 4
cerberus prob abit of an unknown but will win enough games to finish top 4.

Hampton have 1 side but does anyone actually know how many of there senior core have left? can pencil in if they start well a few blokes will think an easy flag and return

Dandy will suprise alot of sides in the top 4 even pinch a win or 2 against a contender. credit has to go to them all down there tho recruited alot of young blokes in there and got themselves in a good financial position I hear from a mate there.
From watching Saturday there seemed to be alot of helpers behind the scenes.

eagles ,pumas , sth Mornington bottom 3
South Mornington will surprise people this year.

Wins and margins for round 1?

Moorabbin v Lyndale
Super important game for both sides. To the best of my knowledge, neither have recruited too heavily and may both be down the bottom end in 2022.
Think Moorabbin will have the upper hand though in what could be a long year at the Pumas.

Doveton v Lyndhurst
Lyndhurst by how much is the real question. First 150pt+ loss for the year?

Cerberus v Hallam
No tip here. Not sure on where Cerberus or Hallam are at. Win this round will give both sides confidence - especially Hallam!

Dandenong v Frankston
Frankston should win this. The hype is that they’re recruited well and are the team to beat in 2022.
Dandenong also will be vastly improved from all reports & will be keen with a young group. Could be match of the round and looking forward to watching this one on Sunday in the replays.

South Mornington v Hampton
Another one I can’t get much read on. Don’t know much about either so will wait until round 2 or 3 to make much further comment…

Good luck to all this weekend! Footy’s back!

Maybe they should've invested in youth a long time ago & pursued a link with East Sandy JFC, rather than give Hampton Rovers a free ride year in year out. Yes they've tried a token merger with Highett for U/19s a number of years back but haven't really invested in kids. Now they're asking 40 something year olds to answer the SOS
They tried to get involved with East Sandy back in 2007/08 when a few players coached the u/a6's down there, and then got an under 19's side going the following year, for Hampton with juniors from East Sandy, however that seems to have not lasted long, perhaps they should look into it again, you really need to be tied to a junior club these days to survive, hope they can get back on track, good club to be around

Any help guys would be great

In my opinion support from both the coaching staff and fellow team mates can go a long way to helping a player regain his confidence.

I’d suggest the player be open about it, maybe speak to the captain or coach that your struggling with your kicking or whatever it may be. Straight away it could be a weight off the shoulders and at least they can be mindful of it and try help with advise or encourage you.

If the trouble is on a match day, try and do the little things right early in the game. Maybe lay a solid tackle, neutralise a one on one contest to pick the confidence up and from there it can roll on.

Sth Mornington by 6 goals over hampton

Dolphins by 5 goals over dandy

Cerberus 2 goals over hallam

Lyndhurst 15+ over eagles

Moorabin 7 goals over lyndale

Don’t think you know enough about Hampton and the struggles being endured.
Acknowledged they have had struggled in the lead up to the season but they will still have some senior players from D2 of last year who will be a class above the standard. Look I’m glad they got a team up and have kept alive but it will be embarrassing for the league if they took the piss out of the comp

He has been tried all over ground but just can’t seem to get confidence up
Put him/ya self behind the ball , game in front of him/you (backline) start man on , let his/your opponent take him/you to the play and when the opportunity arises, farkin smoke said oponent on every level , get his/your hands on the footy from said contests lower the eyes and hit tit , once he has that opponent on toast the confident will flow into the game then he/you can start creating , also get to training early and work on all skills , as many touches during the week as possible (especially on a Thursday night ) . I'm abit piissy right now but I hope this helps him/you bruz. Good luck this weekend

Swung past Dandenong today for a bit.

Takings from what I saw.

Frankston are really well polished side and will surely be the team to beat this year.

Dandenong very young side and had a real did lacked a bit of class against the Dolphins but will win a fair few games this season.

Off the ground, Big crowd today as big as I have seen at a division 4 game, Not sure what Dandenong have done over the off season but it was impressive even on a damp day.

The only negative I could see was the behaviour from Frankston no.26 at full back acting like a hero mouthing off after every goal and giving the crowd the bird on numerous occasions something the Dolphins will need to address and not a good look.

Thanks for your kind & encouraging words.

From a Dandenong side, the committee, coaching group & players have been working hard at building a culture people want to be a part of & get some of these young kids back to enjoying their footy again.
We’re not there yet and still a long way to go, but I hope we’re on the right path…

A credit to a lot of past players and supporters who come down as well. The place was buzzing and I have confidence it will only get bigger as the season rolls on.

Kudos to Frankston today, too. They were simply a class above - ala CPL last year. Will be interesting to see how the season unfolds as it progresses.
