Welsh was awesome in the First Qtr at FF. Sheeds made an awesome move there. I dunno what your on about but that was great coaching.Kevin Sheedy, Why not start hille in the goalsquare instead of the bench when you started with welsh, davey, rama and lovett with a backline like Geelong's. frustrates the shit outta me.....I could of done a better job last night

dont get me wrong welsh was fantastic he is my fav player i got nothing against him. but if it was put in the air, harley, scarlett and egan would come over the top and punch welsh had to get his goals under pressure and he was playing on Tenace not the best player going aroundOur forward structure clearly worked for us early.
Welsh should have kicked three in the first quarter.

Playing on Tenace, Tenace is shit anyone could out mark him.Could of sworn I saw Welsh take three marks in the forward 50.
The Geelong defense was rattled. That set up was about the only thing that worked for us all night. We had mis-matches everywhere.
Lovett was good early, set us up a couple of times whilst on Harley.
Rama shutdown Milburn.

i said nothing was wrong with what welsh did i said that we were too small and didnt have a tall target to do for..Didn't see the mark he took over Egan and Lucas?
If a bloke kicks two goals in the first quarter, and misses an easy third, then the move works.

No, it didn't. Scott Lucas couldn't even get in front. Most of the time that the ball went in, it rebounded very quickly.
How about we blame the boys for a lack of passion last night?![]()
I know it's old, and I also know that it's easy to blame him. Thats because he was blantantly bad last night. Watching him last night was painful. People say he's quick, I thought he looked sluggish, his decision making was woeful, and if he's supposed to bust packs why were people saying he was soft on my way home?
CJ, seriously mate, thanks for everything, but it's time to go.

Then you're very much kidding yourself.
Scott Lucas playing behind wasn't because of our forward setup, only Scott Lucas can be blamed for that one.
Lloyd was out of the side, our forward set up allowed Welsh to have three goals at goal in the first quarter, it allowed Lovett to expose Harley, it allowed Watson to make an impact early, it allowed Rama to take Milburn away from Lucas.
It means that for the majority of the first quarter, Johns and Lucas were able to compete one out. We had 7 scoring shots in the first quarter, we had a scoring shot for every two entries, that's pretty damn effective.
