Imagine paying a player 1.7 million to play reserves! Melbourne are a basket case.

Don’t know how many times this needs to be said: Petracca hates Oliver. Huge reason he’s leaving as he blames Oliver for Melbourne’s for implosion.

Here’s a thought

- Melbourne spoke to both Adel and GC , not happy with either potential trade value , approach Petracca “if we move Clarry on , will you stay ?”

I highly doubt that Oliver is the only reason Petracca wants out.

There’s a new coach, and a pretty solid group of young players to start with. Melbourne should cut their losses, be glad they’re getting a huge contract off their books and take whatever the best offer they can get for him is.

Same with Oliver, his situation is a little bit more complicated hence they are willing to pay some of his salary, but it won’t be good for King to have either of them around next year.

It'll work fine, just as all deals that don't get done for contracted players do. He'll still be trying to attract suitors for a trade end of 2026, there won't be a drop in performance.

I think they want Oliver gone, and they’re making him an enticing prospect for rivals to bid on by offering to pay his salary.

I think the talk of making him play in the magoos is more of a way to convince him to go, than it is to drive his price up.

I wasn’t aware of those ridiculous $$ on offer but Pickers mentioned on Trade Radio today. I had thought may be close to 2m/year but 2,5m/year is next level. Our list guru did mention Power were going very hard $ wise and we could never compete on this basis and were clearly the lowest offer
