anyone had a look ahead to the quaddie tomorrow?

it sucks! i hate race 9. it's everything that's wrong with cup week. a stack of horses who don't even deserve to be racing in the city, much less at Flemington in cup week.

anyone who can pick a winner out of that is better than me. it's the first time i've ever considered ticking "F" for the quaddie - but when you consider that the 2nd and 3rd legs also suck, the initial quaddie that i come up with was $100 for 3%.

it's tough...

So it is. Must learn to look at the whole card before talking. Would have won the Emirates so am happy to take $1.75 and gets in fairly well at the weights only giving a max of 3.5kg to the field.

Not sure why but it looks like I may forgive Buffering. Ran a super 2nd to Haylist in the Newmarket down the straight so it's hard to get that out of my head plus the $5.50 looks attractive.

Emirates is quite often won by a horse down in the weights so I'm going with Freewheeling. Was just beaten by the fav last week so the weight turn around and the extra 200m are positives.

Going for some value in the QE Cup with Ironstein. Won the race last year in impressive style and was good in the MV Cup 2 weeks ago. Flem is his track so the $17 looks overs.

Obviously very good if she gets the trip. Total forget run last time I think she would have been within half a length of Zydeco, having said that I think the rise in trip looks to suit Zydeco more than her. There will be others in the race as well like la Zuma,Zuccotto, summerbliss that may appreciate it even more but Zydeco looks pretty good. If you did like DD there is enough to like, she was held up for most of the straight and never got out and she gets 2.5Kg off Zydeco for it. It wouldn't be too hard to take the $10 at Betstar this morning if you think she runs the trip.

Keep in mind I said green moon wouldn't either so **** me!

R1 GLADIUS 2 from 2 and Craig Williams on board is good enough for me

R2 ZAAMORE e/w @ $6.50 ftw and $2.20 ftp came storming home last start in Geelong when beaten by SABRES and can go one better here. The 1800 will suit.

R3 MRS ONASSIS $9 ftw and $3 ftp is ripper value here. I would be expecting QUEEN DELIGHT to lead from barrier 13 and if MRS ONASSIS can get on her back from barrier 11 she could get a really nice run just off the pace.

R4 SUMAKARAY beat QUICKSILVER LASS by 3 lengths last start who has since won a race at Mornington and looks to be a very handy horse. So I'll go with that formline. $9.50 ftw and $3.10 ftp.

R5 WANNAJEWEL, my roughie for the day, currently $26 ftw. Loved it's run last start when he flashed home at Geelong over 1200 and was beaten by less than a length to RUN DIEGO. Big step up in class but drops 6 kilo's from that run and I think the 1400 will really suit him today. Strike rate is a concern when compared to other horses in the race though.

R6 SUMMERBLISS e/w is fantastic value, distance should not be a problem after watching her work to the line last start and should get the run of the race from barrier 1 and has Craig Williams on board. $7.50 and $2.30 looks massive overs going on her last run.

R7 GERONTIUS e/w $8 ftw and $2.64 ftp. Don't know too much about this field but GERONTIUS finished 3rd to ROWIE two starts back and then ROWIE finished 2nd to FIVEANDAHALFSTAR who then went on to win the Derby and that form looks good enough for me. Hope all that makes sense .

R8 ITS CRUNCH TIME, massive run first up at the valley and looked no chance on the turn when he was out the back and wide on the turn but came storming home for the win. I think he will run a massive race today and is my best bet of the day. $9.50 FTW and $3.00 ftp currently but I would expect that to come right down during the day.

Corey Brown took the gap McEvoy should have, end of the race. 1st two will get further as well, Ready Diva not a bad run after missing the start and going wide

Going for Maaratib in the Oaks, well bred and value runner at $15, her last run showed she was screaming out for a trip and the run wasn't much worse than the winner she switched over heels then maintained the same sprint to the line.

My best bet is Scapolo is in great order.

Have backed Gondokoro the place.... think Zydeco will win but 2nd & 3rd are up for grabs - J.Cassidy openly saying he will ride Demi back in the field makes me more confident something at odds will finish in the top 3.

Zydeco is a moral in the Oaks. I know favourites are getting belted this week, but the Oaks is a favourites race.

with that said - i had a small ew on transonic.

trifectas were around zydeco one out first and dear demi one out second.

2 quaddies - these were excedingly difficult today

wide one - 80 bucks for 9.5% - Race 6: 1, 2, 4, 5 / Race 7: 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 13 / Race 8: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 13 / Race 9: 1, 2, 4, 7, 10

skinny one - 12 bucks for 75% - Race 6: 2, 5 / Race 7: 1, 2 / Race 8: 1, 8 / Race 9: 4, 7

fingers crossed today more closely resembles Cox Plate or Caulfield Cup days rather than Derby or Cup days...

early races (that I haven't bet on) suggest its still a bookies day though...

no excuses. Dear Demi was the much better horse today. I thought Zydeco had more burst than that. she had a big struggle to get to the front.
