Disney are full of s**t after 8 years. 'Expanding the universe' is a bait they'll use forever. When the inevitable fourth trilogy comes out it'll be the same old fantasy tropes again.

KK and her posse need to go.

That needs to be the first priority.

Started reading Rise of the Resistance and I just keep cringing at the supposed timeline of this ST. It's just so.. condensed.

I'm kinda convinced they have little grasp on time and distance and probably spent too much time in sandpits as children.

Wow, sir.

Disney looking to hard reset the entire Star Wars franchise in the decade approaching. This is Kennedy and Disney together. On Disney+ and future trilogies, and concentrating too on the expanded universe. But this also entails changing much of the lore of the PT and OT as well. Re-changing Canon. Also, the whole agenda is focused on moving completely away from the FANS of Star Wars and concentrating on the general person, the general movie-goer and streaming subscriber. This also entails where any product released wont have such lore and mythology behind it, so that the general person can just watch a show/movie and understand it in itself as well as in the EU of it.

basically, modeling Star Wars exactly like the MCU, where shows and movies connect, etc.

also, TROS -- the infamous mass reshoots in august-october -- this is the first in this grand plan of hard resetting SW for the general audience. Those reshoots were called on to specifically start this new agenda, start this MCU-like approach here, and expand or double-down on it in the coming decade as per above.

If they say it enough times emotionally damaged fans unable to reconcile what the prequels did to them will believe it, despite all evidence to the contrary.

It's so similar to Port Adelaide it isn't funny.

Primus was the prequels and Hinkley is the sequels, spreading fake news about a young team and everything else.

Are you surprised? They tried to appeal to fans with Solo and the re-introduction of Darth Maul, and that bombed because Maul introduced in 1999 - almost 20 years ago - and only fans would even remember him.

They want to wipe out the entire expanded universe lore and tell their own stories. I'd be perfectly happy if they just bumped up the budget to $100m per episode on a live action series between the First Order and the Resistance. Star Wars was meant to be based on a weekly serial, after all.

Then you could have the cross-over 'Avengers' style movie every three years or so.

good point with maul.
but ideas like anthology movie that could jump back and forward along the expanded universe, characters like bane, thrawn, revan, etc...whats wrong with that?

after all, the mcu is full if eu characters anyway...captain america etc is just like bane etc. all preexisting in comic/book form. why do kids still love spiderman? hes a character invented like fifty years ago. so EU is not a dirty word.

"
  • After Klaud asks them each if they take the other as their lawful-wedded spouse, Rey states "I do", but then Ben hesitates, and she says she knows Ben doesn't really want to do this. But Ben reassures her, "No, ... I do" and he kisses her passionately.
  • Threepio and Artoo suggest that the two settle down at Lars Homestead where Ben's family originated. However, since the farm still is legally owned under the Lars family, the two must adopt the Lars name also. However, Ben for some reason wanders off, never to be seen again, leaving Rey alone.
  • In the final scene, Rey is single and alone with a baby. A stranger there (who fans will recognize as the long-snooted Garindan) comments that no one has lived at this home and asks her name. Rey, teary-eyed, states, "Rey. Rey Skywalker-Organa-Palpatine-Amidala-Solo-Kenobi-Lars." The single mother then observes the Twin Suns, cradling her baby, who is revealed to be Baby Yoda, and the scene cuts to the credits."

This article provides a great history of where it all went wrong, and how a toxic agenda to push identity politics, and feminism, ultimately destroyed Star Wars.
Yeah, nah.

TLJ isn't a s**t film because of "woke agenda" or identity politics or feminism or because the male that wrote it worked with a "story group" that's 36% female. It's not a s**t film because it's got an asian in it. It's a s**t film because it's a s**t story. There's a little unnecessary preaching that's a bit cringe but if you changed the lead character and every other woman in the film into a man it would still be s**t because the story straight up ******* sucked.
