From what I remember he didn't play exclusively on the ball for quite a while, but either way he showed within his first year that he had a lot of talent. It was obvious he was wasting it for whatever reason as you said, but it agrees fully with what I said. If the player shows nothing in the first year they are usually duds, Ablet showed something called talent. Players who show no real talent and no real statistics are the ones go on to be average for the entirety of their careers.

When you finally finish reading comprehension in school you will understand my points I hope.

In his first two games? Hill's shown talent while at the club and you're already getting hysterical because his first two games didn't get you guzzling the main ingredient of your diet.

However you still consider freo's risk with Hill to be significantly bigger than the eagles with NickNat based on West Coast so called young midfield talent.

That 1 season he had OP. How did you expect him to play 22 games with OP? Heck look how Judd played with OP.

His first two games were very good, just one bad game and Freo supporters are all over it. Ofcourse Hill had sensational 2 games.

Also, I dont see how you possibly can't get why we took the risk on Naita. We have plenty of midfielders, now they might not turn out to be stars or whatever but we have plenty of them(and I would say with our drafting history we will be fine in the area), we needed a game-breaker, a freak and Naita was that, at his worst he will ruck for us after Coxy retires, at his best, he should be able to break games open in a 5-10 minute period. You guys on the other hand need plenty of inside midfielders. You would like to hope Hill makes it as one.

I think both teams youngsters have got their problems but Hill looks bad after two games when the alternative was Rich. In 3-6 years you make a decision about a young player not 2 games.

No doubt quality is more important that quality. No doubt ones chances of quality are increased by quantity of high end picks. You had 2 high picks this year and chose an "old" FP and took a flyer on a guy rated mid to low first round at pick 3 - so you have no quantity and quality is an unknown at this stage. Hence Hill over a sure thing was a bigger risk. Easy to grasp.

Of course it is you that is attributing the plodder tag to a bunch of guys you have hardly seen and who have barely played but are (on the same basis) attributing future greatness to Hill .....

Mundy, Ibbotson, Suban and Hill with their footskills alone could be game breakers (Something your side clearly lacks).

I don't see how you expect to be taken serious when your bias is extremely obvious. Your predictions about young players are exactly the same you are whinging about them doing to Hill and others.

You also have missed the point I and others raised that we failed to recruit good midfielders in the 2008 draft, when our clear deficiency is the midfield. You might as well not post if all you're going to do is post the same biased crap as it's embarrassing to us other Freo supporters.

1. Hill was no more a risk than NickNat was (Considering Rich was in the draft).

Written them off? Suban isn't a midfielder to begin with, and Hill isn't the type of midfielder we _really_ need. I hope Hill turns into a Matera type for sure, but Matera wasn't there at the bottom of the pack finding the ball, he waited for the receive and ran with it.

We lack the in and under types with clean hands, of which the best teams have at least 3-4 on the ground at any one time. In the draft just gone we recruited none. Palmer and Hasleby are alone, and Hase will be gone before our next premiership making him irrelevant to our future midfield.

There is this belief that fast players arn't inside types, from what I have seen of Hill his hands are extremely clean and he has the tenacity to play an inside role.

Suban seems to be more of a recieved, but again we are two games in.

You dont seem to understand the terms inside and outside midfielders.
All those players are OUTSIDE midfielders.They arent game breakers, and they wont be able to change a game within 5 minutes. Palmer is an inside midfielder because he wins his own ball. He is probably the only consistent one in your squad and he COULD become a game breaker if he improves his kicking. If you want to contend for a flag, you can't have a team full of outside midfielders or you will be smashed. And Schammer? Okay he is going good, but what happens to him when the pressure is on? You dont have the depth of inside midfielders, while you have plenty of outside midfielders. Its the reason why your team can't make most of Sandiland's dominance in the ruck.

On the flip side we have plenty of inside midfielders and we lack depth in our outside midfielders, which isnt a problem because in every draft you can pick up speedy outside midfielders at around the 20-50 pick range.

We wont find out which team has the better future for atleast another year or two. So anything said right now is just an opinion and not fact.

It's quite bizarre from an Eagles perspective to be slamming Suban I'd be pretty happy to have him in our backline.
