I was watching the club Bnf Lifestream and was taken aback by Steven May’s drunken slurry of words formed after his 5th place achievement. Much like Ed Langdon previous comments on Collingwood as a “one trick pony”, May exclaimed that “Melbourne is so much better than Collingwood” and that we “should have smoked them”. Considering how Langdon comments ended, we can expect a big game for queens birthday.

Odd, considering the results between the two sides over the past few years... I think we are like 8-2 over the last 10.

Who’s Steven May?
 
Poor old Dees.
Premiership after so many years of being irrelevant. And that Premiership in a year that most clubs were massively disrupted by Covid. With of course the win being in front of a stadium full of neutrals.
The next couple of years, when firmly in the window, their coach and plenty of players become coke heads resulting in two straight sets eliminations.
All while we surge from 17th to missing a GF by a point (arguably could have won that premiership if we had got through) to a Premiership in front of thousands of the faithful.
No wonder they’re salty!
We are in their heads now. That’s a good thing.

Imagine if a pie player said that last year? McRae would be furious. Crazy Goody on the hand was probably the guy who told May to have this opinion.

This will be happening right across the competition.

* Adelaide lost two games to us this year by a combined 3 points. They win those and they play a home elimination final.

* Port lost to us by 2 points during the season. They win that and they would have had a home qualifying final against Brisbane instead of the other way around.

* GWS missed out on making the Granny by losing to us by a point.

* Despite beating us on King’s Birthday, Melbourne lost a QF to us by 7 points after losing one of their best players to an act of common assault that they think Maynard should have gotten jail time for.

* Brisbane lost a Grand Final to us by 4 points.

Our practice of being able to seal games to win by small margins with a list that’s a long way from the best in the comp, means that we leave our opposition rueing about what could have been.

Yes

Fly would have thought it was the comment of an ungracious loser, not focused on what needs to be done better

Roos was often a snarky campaigner but he would have clamped down on this stuff straight away
