It was just a bad decision.

The problem is because the umpires are infallible, the AFL will come out and say that was a correct decision and that will become the rule from now on.

Every rule is subjectable. Each individual umpire and their interpretation of the rule is obviously different no matter how hard the afl teaches them the same. Some are just worse than others.

You are such a dishonest poster. It's directly relevant to the conversation and you know it.

It’s so great to have a mature conversation isn’t it?

Disagree with someone, don’t worry about a counter argument just insult them and accuse them of making up fantasies.

Real world conversations with him/her would be fun.

The old abuse indirectly tactic ecause you lack the spine to confront. Clearly you'll never change.

Life isn’t about confronting people all the time. It’s frustrating to not be able to even engage in an argument with you because of your basic lack of people skills

Wait until someone perfects the tactic of approaching a contested ball and jumping with the knee into the opposition player.
The natural evolution is that you can't use the knee in a marking contest, right?

Of course not.

But that's what they've done with the Toby Greene studs up situation.

Yet to a person with even below average reasoning capacity telling someone what they know can be nothing but a fantasy. You cant possibky know and you're telling the only person who does they're being dishonest about what they know.

Clearly you're not attempting to engage in conversation when you call that an insult. Or when you post personal rubbish indirectly constantly.

That's an absurd proposition.

If it was a pies player with studs up it would be a free kick to the pies - don't ask me why but they have a free pass and are the umps darlings.

Geelong are the biggest exponent of "studs up" in marking contests.. Tom Hawkins being by far the worst offender.

Toby just draws the attention because he's a poster boy for AFL villains.

I’m sorry, but it’s so difficult to watch our great game being cut to pieces by umpires/adjudicators with no feel for the game.

If someone sticks his foot in your back to attempt a mark (Duncan against Adelaide tonight), it should never be a free against. This and the fine against Aaron Francis for the perfect bump on O’Meara last year just makes me shake my head in dismay.

It was a totally unrealistic attempt to mark the ball and he went in studs up.

When we see a free paid for studs up in a legitimate attempt to mark we can then complain.

That was no free 100% umpired completely wrong needs to be taken out the back and flogged. It will be the end of the hanger if adjudicated that way. Soccer rules here we come.

No it was paid incorrectly as studs up, It should be a free for an unrealistic attempt IMO.

You can argue it may have been unrealistic. But studs up for an attempted mark from behind is opening a can of worms and has the potential to see a great mark disallowed. I find it strange that people can’t see the problem with this ruling.

We dont agree but I actually do get where your coming from. Riewoldt getting penalised in the JLTgame when he got a lift from using his feet to take a speccy was a better example I think. And at no real rrisk to the opposition player.

I just don't think you can differentiate in the rules.

Bartel needs to quickly replace Ling as the #1 special comments person.
A random person off the street would be better than Ling. But yeah our newest board member is great at it. His radio work too adds class in a Sydney market crying out for quality AFL commentary.

It is a simple rule put in place to stop players protecting space with their feet...one umpire totally f@#$ing up the interpretation does not make it a bad rule, it make him an absolute flog of an umpire. The rules overall are OK, it is crap umpiring that makes them look bad. I am sick of hearing it’s not the umpires fault as the rules are hard to interpret....well, they are not really, umpires just choose to interpret them in such ridiculous ways it is infuriating.

Umpires are really screwing it all up by applying rules to situations where they are not intended....exhibit B is the sliding rule.
