You are sounding like a troll - just saying
I find that comment offensive. As i said in the Ratten thread the coach is totally responsible for the physical and mental preparation of the team and tonight he failed miserably. In another space i mentioned coaches do not get sacked for honourable losses but tonight was not honourable it was a disgrace. I cannot believe anyone other than Sticks, close friends and family could support his retention beyond next week

I think everyone needs to calm down, sleep on it and have another look in the morning.
3 weeks ago we were no where near it and yes they played the worst game of the year tonight but calling your own players what they have been called here is not on.

Luke Mitchell has missed a season and a half of footy due to 3 shoulder reco's.
Whilst he did kick a couple today, he simply isn't up to AFL footy just yet. He needs another preseason under his belt to really build up his fitness base, and then in 2013 get some more games of VFL footy under his belt.

Despite what some posters think on BF, he's not the great white hope.

would love to hear the press conference if someone knows how to access it online?

What can I say....we thought it was going to just happen. A lot of finger pointing, no chasing with intent, not playing the ball, instead, going for the man. This group of players may be the team that gets ratten sacked...hope they feel good. On a side note....how fricken good to Gold Coast play? They're a real talented team that will cause more upsets next year thats for sure...Dissapointed doesn't give justice to how i feel, embarrassed, shocked...but I will stick by my team through the good times and bad, I suggest everyone does the same if not, **** off we dont want ya!

heck, i missed the first 1.5 qtrs and didnt realise mcinnes did his knee. The one REAL shining light this year and he may miss all of next year? shattering. Bell and Casboult have been good but Mcinnes showed he was best 22. shattered for the kid.

Please play Mitchell and Okeefe next week. give them some real incentive for the summer. Still think we are top 4 material next year if good run with injury.

And those bagging ellard, armfield, white get a life. Armfield has probably been our most improved, ellard is a real goer and should have played more this year and white has done well since being back in.

Bucks and Paddy Mac please - leaving Kerr and rehab-man unplayed.

Might as well give T-Bird (if fit), Rusty, Emu, Collins, Davies, Lucas 'farewell' games given half will be traded, free agented or delisted.
Saw Kerr in a sling at the VFL today so I guess he is already done?

In the context of our season probably a fitting end: losing an unloseable game when the margin of the won was all that was being discussed (other than how dangerous we would be in the finals) and a promising young player does his acl.

A year of false hope and cruel fate. Annus horribilus indeed. Poor ratts must be feeling like a man coming straight off the rack to the gallows. He will be sacrificed for the sins of the players. Not fair but a purge is on the way from the top down.

Just hope some good comes from it.

Nothing for it now but to watch hawks win the flag and learn from how they do it.

For the record I watched pies tonight. They are gone. And cloke was beyond bad. Two bad losses in a row for bucks at the pointy end.

How many good coaches are sacked for an untried assistant after making the GF and winning a flag in successive seasons?

Malthouse is Pagan all over again. Don't understand the love for Mick.

You struggle badly at times...actually all the time.

Actually, that deal was put in place before he won the flag then went on to consecutive GF's winning one. Now Buckley isn't getting the same out of the group.

Agree, he doesnt seem to lead and looks slow?
I was upbeat about him after seeing him play for Calder but he is coming from a long way back

Someone has to be the scapegoat and it's unfortunately Ratts. Well done players
This.

I went to the Gabba in 2007 to watch the Lions annihilate us and Pagan's coaching career come to an end. Although he will coach next week, I feel like I just watched Ratten's coaching career come to the end. It's not all his fault, this Jeckyll and Hyde team gave him hope the penny had dropped the past few weeks and then they go and troll him like that.

What is Ratten's fault, is the russian roulette he plays with our structure. No room for error when your key defenders are White and McInnes who are third defender size. Whenever we go in with no backup and lose a tall early, a terrible game is bound to follow. He took the odds to our mobile lineup never letting the ball get to the Suns tall forwards. The problem there is that when the midfield is off, your tall defenders can minimise the damage until the midfield starts turning the tide.

Woeful skills and insipid half efforts were the order of the day. Not sure how it looked on TV and I was down one end of the ground, but the only player I saw trying to do anything was Judd.

My views on the night...

The suns came to play... and the Carlton players won the game last weekend in their minds when we thumped the scum by 96 points.

That was one of the most pathetic performances by a side dressed in the Old Dark Navy Blue that I have ever seen. And that includes the bad years from 2002-2007.

A couple of the players were good and tried hard all night. The rest of the boys left their attitude at home thinking that we just needed to show up.

As for the rookies:

Bell made a few mistakes, but he never gave up trying.

Casboult seems to have corrected his slice, but was starting the ball right and instead of it slicing back to where he wanted it to go, it kept on going straight and he was missing out to the right this week.

Apparently Ratts is currently going off in his post-match presser. The club isnt relaying the responses via twitter so I dont know what he is saying.

And so on the back of that pathetic effort by the players, Ratts is going to probably coach his last match next week.

Journo at the presser asks whether Ratts fears for his coaching role now. Ratts gave him an absolute bone chilling stare and conceded that of course he is worried.

Sad to see a great of our club like this. The players should be absolutely ashamed that they let it come to this.

Don't be offended - just take the tip that the post I quoted (nothing to do with all the above) sounded like it came straight out of the Troll style manual. Had a touch of smartarse glee to it - just saying again :p

With that record of rotten luck, he's just as likely to do a shoulder during a preseason match.

Do we expect Melbourne to beat Freo next week? Let him at least have the experience of playing an AFL game as reward for persistence in the couple of months he's played at Northern.

Those opposition supporters in here to watch the meltdown, might want to consider not liking the comments. It has been discussed amongst all BF mods and we're not going to take kindly to you visibly getting your rocks off on our board. Read to yourself and then run back to the other boards and tell your mates.

We need some alone time .... about 7 months should do it.
