Here's the clip of James Bell talking about the aftermath of the miss and stating how he will only be remembered for that miss. Real sad to watch, seemed like he copped a lot of threats. Loved watching the way he went at it as a blood.

Even thought this interview is with a now past player its important enough to add here for listening.

James is a fine young man from a good family and desperately wanted to succeed as a Swan. Probably that's true of all the young men who join us. Something we should bear in mind when expressing our opinions of their worth.
Anyone who hasn't read Brandon Jack's book should do so.
Thanks for putting this up Ticky.

I hope he knows that's not what he'll be remembered for. We've had hundreds of players not good enough to carve out careers come and go, and we'll have hundreds more. We've also had dozens of painful shoulda-coulda-woulda losses, and we'll have dozens more.

I think it's more likely he'll be remembered as the guy who none other than Micky O personally vouched for, and who proudly celebrated his first career goal with an indigenous dance on the G. They're images and character attributes that will transcend playing ability.

Who has the best skills at your AFL club?
That was the question asked by Sportsday SA’s Paul Bonsor and former Geelong and Sydney forward Daniel Menzel.

Menzel's view. The other guy seemingly didn't offer an opinion on Sydney.

Sydney selection;
Errol Gulden
Menzel: “This is one of my favourite players in the competition, Errol Gulden.
“I love the way he uses the ball, he breaks lines, he’s only 20 and he’s so smart.
“I can’t wait to see him over the next decade.”

Looking forward to the next decade of Errol and the Swans myself. :)

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh Errol!

Is it just coincidence .. or is it a sign that the Swans new home base is on Errol Flynn boulevard??

Just on the RHI.. In the Rampe interview, there were unpacked boxes in the weights room, and also multiple tradies in the back ground in other shots. The RHI is still not complete (fair enough with weather and covid impacting)

Amartey has done his hammy - my high hopes for him are constantly being shattered.. is it time to give up?
Rankin, Sheather and Reid getting back into it after late season/off season, injury/surgery
Melican the other on modified program

Looks likely that Reid and Amartey both will be unavailable Rd1. The others not really pushing for seniors.

I thought the same. After Beetson's public comments on Amartey. Now he is injured again. Ditto Melican.

Both of these guys promise a lot but deliver little for whatever reason. Are they worth persevering with. It impacts our team that they do bot impact our team positively.

I don't think Amartey's gonna be out by R1. He's losing almost his entire preseason but we're 8 weeks away from the season starting and by the sounds of things Amartey will be back to full health in 6-ish

As for Sammy, idk how long an adductor takes to heal tbh

I feel it’s admissions like this that give bedford good cause to use capitals.

Given that just about every Swans fan deemed it a mistake prior to the GF, Horse finally admitting the club screwed up by yet AGAIN selecting injured players in a GF is infuriating.

Agree. Three and a half months since the GF and Reid is still not back to full training. He admitted last year he was not the best trainer but had really put in over the 22 pre season.

I wonder how diligent he has been this time in rehabbing? Last year for mine.

I am guessing Reid would just be following the timeline set by the fitness staff. There is still 2 months till the season starts. So probably best to be cautious and not rush back.

The other players getting injured is unfortunate. But it is better for it to happen in mid January.

I did relay that straight after sadly

By the looks of that article everyone will be in full training by the middle of February. That means everybody ready for the start of the season. Unless we get more injuries.

I don't have huge expectations of Reid in 2023. Given his injury history, and his output up on returning from injury, it wouldn't surprise me if 2023 is a write off for him. I hope I'm wrong, because last year was the best (or top 2) seasons from him.
