Good win in the end. Think there is still plenty to work on with our stoppage and clearance work, keen to see if it'll improve with Parker Mills and Adams returning. No doubt credit to the boys though for sure. We're able to keep them at bay and again our second half was very good. Got ontop around the footy when it mattered and overall our ball movement & fitness outclassed them.
This didn't happen at all last year so it's promising signs early on.
Roberts had a great game, I kept on saying to myself throughout the game he feels like already one of our most reliable defenders. Composed and had some great defensive acts. So many players contributed on the attack again. Heeney Errol Papley, Chad was again ordinary in the first half but grew as the game went on.
Our end to end ball movement & field kicking again was class, also being able to get it out of congestion well. 3-0 you beauty.

I was as upset as anyone when it looked like the comeback was on but on reflection that’s a pretty good win in the end.
Great result to get a comfortable win in the end, after Essendon kept it close in the first half (albeit with some questionable tactics).
Paps best game in a while for 4 goals, Heeney everywhere again. Special mention to James Jordan for his first Swans goal with a peach from the Boundary line.
The time on period for so long has been the Swans Achilles heel in allowing cheap goals, but dominated that tonight.

We were rocked by the pressure early but steadied like good teams do.
Grundy had a shocking start but from about 15 minutes into the first quarter was the dominant ruck. There's a reason they subbed Draper.
Heeney kept up his form, and was almost the only Swan winning a clearance in the first half. His connection with Grundy is excellent - if the rest of the midfield can get on that same level then damn.
Papley was at his best, Gulden had another slow-ish start but was back to his best in the latter three quarters.
Campbell was excellent, Roberts looks absolutely at home in defence.
I said it in the match thread, but thought Corey Warner was better than he looked - just doesn't look strong enough yet (which is admittedly a little concerning for a 3rd year player). Though he won a really important contest late that will do his confidence a world of good, and if he'd kicked straight he could have had 3 goals, so it wasn't a mare by any stretch. Jury still very much out.

He literally took two spectacular marks, one on Mckay and the other was from an awkward kick which he outmatched and outmanoeuvred McGrath who’s no slouch and took a difficult mark.

Gulden can't miss, Papley turned it on, even Wayward was applying pressure and tackling.
