Recommitted Tarryn Thomas [OOC 2024] - Staying at North

He's got a family base in western Sydney, I think either of the NSW sides have a good solid structure for him as well.

Do not want him at all. He is a piece of shit as a human being and he is questionable as an AFL player. Any club that values their teams culture would not touch him with a 10-foot pole.

Like when he was playing HBF against the cats in R17, got 24 disposals, 9 intercepts, 6 r50s, 5 tackles?

I mean, I don't blame you for not watching our games, but maybe hold off on the player analysis until you know what you're talking about mate.

I have watched the games.

Off the HBF Witherden had 34 touches against Carlton. 12 intercepts. 9 rebound 50s. 6 score involvements. Because he played half back and we got jolly rogered. Like you did against Geelong.

TT followed that game up with 12 touches against Hawthorn.

Alex followed it up with 14 touches against you.

1st rounder for Withers?

TT at best is a second rounder on performance. He drops to a third rounder due to his attitude and behaviour. This should not be controversial.

He brought Pickett into the Tigers. He will bring TT in if it helps him win a flag.
Richmond had a solid leadership group in 2019.
Hardwick will want to build his young leaders before he risks bringing someone like him in.
Much more important for GC long term than the on field talent one player could bring in the short term.

Thomas was tagged in the Hawks game. No one is tagging withers.

It's purely going to come down to who wants to pay the most. If there is a lot of interest, he will net North a lateish first rounder at minimum.
He won’t he’s Stringer with bigger off field issues and less on field production and Stringer went for 2 2nds

A sublime talent with serious baggage.

Contracted for another year, but rumoured to be exploring trades.

Last week, David King suggested he could be traded out for GC’s first.

Is that trade deal a serious chance? Failing that, what would clubs be prepared to give up for him?
Not worth close to that pick and a player you wouldn't want anywhere near a young jmpressionable list. Best fit probably Geelong for a 2nd where he could thrive under strong management and leadership

Sure, the kid can play. I'd back Geelong's system to get him right - but then again if the Cats team - who love cheap talented players - aren't sniffing around it would say something about him no?

probably best for him to move interstate to get away from the issues he appears to have difficulty separating himself from in melbourne

adelaide might look at him as both a midfielder and a potential half back now that they have missed redman

would think something like adelaide's second round pick would get it done too

Then he won't garner much interest and therefore won't, that's what I've said.

If there's a lot interested parties, the price goes up.

His problems stem from having a mobile phone. He isn't leaving those things behind regardless of where he goes.

whilst i would agree with the sentiment that thomas would not escape all his problems by moving out of state, i think the groups he associates with in melbourne are a pretty significant issue for any other victorian club sniffing around - not like chapel street is too inaccessible from geelong either

hopefully getting into a new state with a club that puts up proper and rigid support structures in place stops the social media flog behavior and keeps him from running with crowds that have lead to the issues he has faced in the last 12 months

Thomas' value probably comes down to whether North want him or not. He's contracted, so if they think he can still be a player for them then they're not gonna trade him out for a late pick.

But if they think they don't have the resources to turn him sround given how many kids they have developing, then they'll probably just sell him to the highest bidder and take whatever they can get.

I'd give a late first for him, but I think most supporters value him a bit less than that because he's had so many issues.
