I see what you're saying but this is just my opinion. A lot of people love Tassie but the young ones would more than likely prefer Hobart for the nightlife and schools for their kids when they have them.
I've had some northern friends take some offence from this.

Hobart in near3x the size of Launnie. It has the states only tertiary referral hospital, the states only sports medicine specialist practice.

There is nothing wrong with Launnie, Burnie, Devonport etc. Its just the provision of services & opportunities in Housing, number of cafe, restaurant variety, partners job opportunities/variety etc makes it easier for staff, players & families. Other than the numbers & variety of such things, the lifestyle for each area differs very little. All have access to bush, fishing, beaches, bike trails etc etc. Thankfully all areas are spared from too
much extreme weather, rain is minimal, heavy rain is not common away from the west coast, all are generally pleasant in the summer & a bit chilly at times in the winter. ;)
