Was having a discussion with a friend the other day, about getting some artwork. He was showing me this design for a sleeve that he is planning to get.
I said it looked ok, but said I could never get anything like that. When he asked I said that it wouldn't look good in my profession, or at least the profession I am working towards.
My reasoning was that, if I was to finish my degree and get into journalism, a visible tattoo would be intimidating to a potential interviewee and perhaps even frowned upon by a potential employer.
He gave me a long spill about tattoos being accepted in society and whatnot and that it's no longer an issue these days.
Now, he's a labourer/builder so I guess it would be less of an issue for him, but does anyone have any knowledge of visible tattoo policies in more white-collar (for want of a better phrase) professions?
