i would appreciate the advice

trade Grimes. Put McGrath in Defence and get Bowes. then trade Franklin for Macrae. Had Franklin last year. was frustrating. quite inconsistent. his bad scores were sometimes less than 50. best scores 130+

Too heavy in the midfield. Will limit your cash generation imo. I'd be looking at either dropping Prestia or Swallow for a rookie.

If you downgrade Prestia you can upgrade both Giles and hibberd. You would be sacrificing a say 20ish ranked mid and upgrading a 20ish defender to a top 8 and a very risky ruck option to say a Martin or Goldy. Plus you get the cash generation from your mid rookie. Food for thought

Captaincy gone, a big weight off his shoulder, maybe he can just run around having some fun, racking up 30 and kicking a few goals.

Agreed, however there's not much outside Dahl and Macrae who I'm confident about in the fwd line ATM. If Paddy comes on, that's 3 premos. Team is of course pending rookie selections.

Agreed re cash generation. But with the exception of Swallow, all those mids could be keepers and to 12 midfielders by end of season.

I firmly believe Prestia won't be anywhere near it. Heppell is even questionable. Both neither here nor there imo. Could even turn both into a Dangerfield or hanners and rookie. And use the extra cash elsewhere.
