I know it's been done to death, but can anyone who has some sort of contact with the coaching staff explain to me our team structure and game plan? We are one real game into the season and some practice games, and I don't really understand why we had our best forward in the midfield, our second best forward in the backline, our two best backmen in our forward line, and a relatively slow developing forward in the midfield.

Using methods of reference to the grand final teams of last year, how often do you see Franklin in the midfield, Scarlett down forward? Roughhead in the midfield? Ablett Jnr in defence?

I can understand trying to be unpredictable when you have a situation within a game when things aren't going right, but when you are winning it is "Systematic" and "repeatable" - surely there is an argument to put in place some structure?

I for one would be interested in an serious explanation as well, if any can be bothered....

Becasue it sure as hell better not be turning the ball over and allowing the opposition to smash us...

The easiest way to understand the state of our team is that we have about half a decent footy team a bunch of kids and more than a few players who consistently underperform. Harvey appears to me to be trying anything and everything to get the under performing players performing some useful part in the game by mixing it up and moving everyone around. So far he has had one real win from the Tarrant move.
I expect players to settle into roles as the season goes on.

Having said all that I think there are a few game plans in the works. In the pre season matches we pressured the ball carrier and the contest yet in the real think under live fire against one of the best running teams in the comp we played a zone. That was the most disappointing aspect of the Bullies game. Lack of pressure on the man with the ball.

Seems to too much unpredictablity. Must be unsettling for players being tried in different roles with different structures each week. Our players seem confusioned alot of the times which maybe the main reason why we the turnover the ball alot.

As for the other points, totally agree. I would rather have Pavlich in the forward line and allow someone to step up in the midfield.
