Richmond
B: Newman,Gaspar, McGaune
HB: B.Deledio, Polak, Raines
C: Tivendale,Tuck, Johnson
HF:P.Bowden, J.Schulz, R.Tambling
F: N.Brown, Richardson, Pettifer
R: Simmonds, J.Bowden, Foley
Int: Hyde, Krakouer, Moore, Polo

Emerg: Pattison, Hartigan, Howatt

Out Howatt and Pattison

In: Simmonds and Brown

My reasoning for that being if simmo is back we can keep usuing polak as the back up ruck and joel bowden can switch to chb or even use mcgaune and moore in that position.

Deledio to take up JB's role across half back, JB to start on the ball. Pattison to go back to coburg and work on ruck skills becuase he wont get a game as a CHF or tall foward for us, Schulz, Kingsley and Richo IMO are our 3 best key forwards with Polak and hughes next in line.

time to get pat bowden back asa forward flanker or even on the wing, and i can't wait till we get kingsley in there, interested to see how a forward line of

Pettifer, Schulz, P.Bowden
Kingsley, Richo and Brown will go

Don't drop Howat. Drop Johnson, he's hopeless. All he does is run around in circles looking for the crappy handball off to a team mate. Johnson is just making up numbers.

Not bad but I'd have Howat and Moore out. Pattison to stay in. Simmonds not match fit, need Polak predominantly at CHB.

Howat and Pattison shouldnt be dropped regardless of who comes in, they've both been servicable.

Drop Krakouer for Brown, has done absolutley nothing once again.

Wouldnt be sure who to drop for Simmonds. But McGuane or Moore would probabaly be on the recieving end, regardless of how decent they've played.

You make me sick. Why do you think hes captain ahead of class acts such as Richardson, Brown and Bowden?

You really think he'd beat all those players if he was no good?

You have absolutley no clue whatsoever.

If both Simmo and Browny are available then howat and moore should make way, howat was supposed to hav bn our best across the preseason but hasnt given us alot in the 1st 2 games, and kelvin, well kelvin's kelvin, i believe mcguane is ahead of him and lets not forget we still have thursty on the sidelines.

All this krakouer crap, if people actually watch the game they would realise how crucial krakouer is in keeping the ball inside our f50, we hav no1 else who tackles, richo tries, schulz is 2 slow, and when patty bowden is in there, he looks as if he is running backwards.

Why drop Mcguane or Moore both have been good. Drop Gasper before you drop either of them.

Howat or Krak for Brown

you are kidding yourself arent u, gasper was easily one of our best on sat, and was good against carlton as well, moore, how bout his effort against carlton where he shat himself and looked at the man rather than the ball, kelvin moore skill and courage needed.

The issue is you have to look at the likely matchups. The Pies forward setup is likely to be Rocca, Cloke, Fraser as the talls with Medhurst, Davis & Thomas/Pendlebury as the smalls. For mine play Gaspar on Rocca who is not going to beat Gaspar on the lead and will be exposed by Gaspar running off. McGuane should get Cloke which leaves Polak to play on Fraser. On the smalls Raines gets Davis, Newman takes Medhurst and Deledio gets either Thomas/Pendlebury. This allows JB to again play up the ground and be mnore attacking which worked on Saturday although he needs to pay respect to his opponent as well.

In the middle I would have no real hard tags going and take them on 1-1. The Pies might go with Richards as their ruckman trying to stretch our back line and if they do we load up our forward line with Richo, Simmo and Schulz. The Pies only really have Wakelin and Presti as talls down back with Clement as the 3rd tall but he will go to Brown(if playing). That leaves Schulz with someone like Johnson as an opponent. If it was to work out like that I would back our forward line to win most of the battles. When Patto needs a rest then he goes to the bench, Simmo(if playing) rucks, Patty to the forward line & Richo to the square along side Brown 1-1 with their opponents.

My line up at present would be:
B: Newman Gaspar Raines
HB: Deledio Polak McGuane
C: Tivendale Johnson JB
HF: Tambling Richo Petts
F: Schulz Simmo Brown
R: Patto Tuck Foley
I: Hyde Polo PB Krakouer

E: Hartigan Moore Howat

Yep well done Gasper you basically stopped Lance Whitnall and Barry Hall on one leg. Some Massive scalps those

And the of course lets consider what else he did for us. Nothing. His disposal is terrible, and when he handballs the ball it goes to player not more then 3 feet away to a teammate who is already under pressure. His decision making skills left a lot to be desired. How many times did he provide cut out on O'Loughlin or Fevola in the first two weeks?? What about tackles and pressure?? How much improvement does he have in him??

Yes Moore made a mistake against walker but it wasnt lack of courage it was a bit of indecision 20 min into your first game back for awhile. He has shown courage on a couple of occasions since.

Moore's skills are far better and he has the pace to break line. He has far greater scope for improvment then Gasper and therefore needs game time to learn.

moore squibbed the walker thing but he later stood his ground with fev coming out which was sound :thumbsu:

One problem is people take someone being named in the best players for Coburg as meaning they played well enough for promotion. Would be surprised to see anyone from the Coburg get a game at Richmond this week.

:) AND Gaspar hasn't been good?

Beaten his opponent on both occasions this season. I n my mind that earns him a game next week.

How many others have beaten their opponent twice this year?

Well I am at the games every week and he never impresses me and quite often lets me down. Where are you every week?

QUITE right Jezza!! Best players ina 60 odd point loss rarely win promotion. Coburg was soundly beaten!!!

I'd think about dropping Patrick Bowden if he isn't fit. If Brown and Simmo are 100% to return then it would be some tough exclusions from the 22.

If we play Raines in the middle like people are suggesting in the other thread then we need one of King, Hartigan, White, Casserley or JON to come in to take his BP role.

Moore + McGuane have played the best footy in their short careers, we aren't going to drop them.

B: Newman - Gas - McGuane
HB: Deledio - Polak - JB
C: Tivendale - Foley - Raines
HF: Hyde - Richo - Pettifer
F: Tambling - Schulz - Krakouer

1R: Simmo - Polo - Johnson

Int: Patto - Moore - King - Tuck (Terry has started him on the bench for some reason)

IN: King - Simmo
OUT: Patrick Bowden - Howat

Gasper is a dying breed. He and Presti are the only two backmen i can think of who are in the team only to shut a player down.
