Fozzie bear Murphy is in. :D
Siegert In, He has earn't his place.
Grover out , Bit of a surprise to me.

We now have officially two T. Longmuirs

I thought Grover has been giving us a fair bit of drive forward lately. So I'm surprised about that one. Would have been less surprised if Megastar had been dropped.

It's completely absurd that Grover would be dropped, while medhurst manages to keep his bloody place. Even if he kicks 10 goals, plus the after siren winner I will never support this guys place in the team. Not until he gets a taste of humility in the WAFL. The day he is dropped down to that level is the day I will wish him luck to break back into the team. And why is T-Lo only emergency? I'm at the point of saying that I hope he is sent to another team where he gets the chances and opportunities he deserves. We have so much wasted talent in the WAFL, all because the selection committee selects on name and not performance. And if the WAFL performers can't hack it in the big time, may as well give them a chance in this 'development' year.

Much as I like him, Shortmuir is a good "depth" player. He is not the future and never will be. If he hasn't secured a full time spot by now he never will.

Not many teams think it prudent to drop their leading goal kicker (even though they may annoy the fans at times).

I am reasonably happy with the selections.

I agree with you. Medhurst dropped his head a couple of times last week, Grover gave us plenty of rebound. Longmuir should be in for Medhurst.

I recognise Medhurst's obvious talent, but think he is 50:50 chance of success( at best) at AAMI. However, I hope he proves me wrong and kicks seven.

What about our leading club goalkicker? Why isn't he getting a game? So what that Medhurst kicked 33 or so goals this year? Nine of those were against a depleted Brisbane side, and he has a poor conversion rate anyway. If he got dropped to WAFL for just one match, plays well, then I'll take back what I say. But at the moment is just taking up space. I bet you anything that Clive, given the same number of games would have had the same amount of goals. I bet you anything that T-lo would have the same number of goals. There is nothing special about Paul Medhurst, and there never will be.

Only seven? ;)

Might be some late changes yet though. We would have thought we were in heaven if we had a 25 man squad like this one (without two of our best 22) in 2000-2001-2002-2003.

Let me just confirm, that I very rarely 'bash' players. I've always supported grandson, I even thought Dan Parker deserved a fair go back in the day. But Medders get my blood boiling.

CC said the other night that they take a players "form" over the last 4 week period. I consider this fair enough, if you dropped Megastar for not kicking a goal last week then Snake would have to go with him if you were consistant.

You would drop Hase for a quiet game as well.

Antoni has obviously not been performing to expectation and Polly was probably saved by the injury to Macpharlap.

I am just glad I am not a selector and will barrack for the chosen team regardless.

I will always barrack for the Freo team. But MEdhurst has had a poor season regardless of last weeks outcome. So what if he kicked four against the Bullies. He is having an atrocious season, and something should be done to remind him he isn't infallible.

The megastar performs every second week. Prior to the break it was home games, for the rest of the season it will be away games. Should kick a lazy 6 this week.

Longmuir will no doubt again take his customary place on the emergency list hence preventing him from playing WAFL football and showing he actually should get a game. But that said, I probably wouldn't drop medhurst for longmuir if I was selector, although I wouldn't be sad to see it happen.

I like the comment about if Clive/Longmuir were to get as much opportunity as Medhurst that they would have the same number of goals. Obviously impossible to confirm, but personally I think lack of opportunity has hindered both players' efforts in the AFL.

Can't wait to see Murphy in action, hope he bags a couple. This could be Siegerts last chance aswell, hopefully he grabs it for his sake.

Don't forget Fewster is a WAFL star. There is a big step up to AFL.

While I am a TLo fan, I can't see how you can even compare him to megastar. TLo would probably not even get a touch if he was to play in Medhursts position and have the same players line up on him.

Geez, Meddie had better start kicking 4 or 5 every game if he wants to get his contract renewed.

Clive! Are you for real? You do realise that he was given opportunities at the start of the year, don't you?

Medhurst was our best player (or close to it) just 2 weeks ago. He was good the week before against Port as well. As a small forward, you can't kick goals every week. The fact remains he is still our most dangerous forward. I can just imagine how happy the opposition coach would be.

Clive had plenty of opportunities at the start of the season to establish his spot in the side. He is well past it now. Hiving him more games in front of youngsters (seeing as though we aren't going to make the finals, or atleast play a big part in them) is a step backwards IMO.

Port was two weeks before - bye in between.

Clive is finished. His age, his history with injury and the fact that he's on such a huge bloody contract would all have to count against him. Sad but true. Maybe he'll get one of the Adelaide clubs interested for a year - more likely Adelaide that Port (although they should have learnt by now to go the youth policy and start to rebuild). We'd be lucky to get a 4th rounder for him.

TLo is a great guy, has enthusiasm to burn, but seriously, how good is he. Really? He plays consistent good footy at WAFL level, but then as someone pointed out so does Buzz Fewster. Truth is, that no matter how many games he is given at AFL level, he's not consistent. Why try the same thing over and over? Bring T-Lo in - one good game then a couple of average ones, drop T-Lo. There's a pattern there. I don't believe the guy's a hack, buy I also don't believe he's the answer either. He's 25 already - if he was the answer, we'd have all forgotten the question by now.

Ryan Murphy was definitely the right decision ahead of TLo and Clive - the guy has to be given a go after all he's been doing. He's untried and unproven so is basically a clean canvas. Clive and TLo are not.

And IMHO - there is no way that either Medders or Farmer should be dropped. they are not the problem in our forward line.

Absolutely, would have been a huge shame if either got a game before Murphy. If you want to point to form, Murphy also has the runs on the board, so it comes down to other factors and Murphy has age on his side and the need for experience.

I've been hanging out for him to get a game since his 7/6 hauls from a while back, it doesn't even matter if he doesn't do well and we lose, I just want to see him get the opportunity and see what he's got.

Warm Greetings IP. I could not be more agreeable.

I agree, can't wait to see him have a run in our forward line. If he can handle AFL as well as he can handle annoying drunks like me rubbing his hair, then he's gonna be a star!:D :D
