We all acknowledge that Tex is physically right to go however imo People on here are either ignoring or under-estimating the mental hurdle a player needs to get past that completes their return

friday night was a terrific milestone, the fact that he pulked up well is another tick however Here on in it's all upstairs for Tex and will largely determine when he comes back

Before seeing him live last night I would've been happy for him to not even touch the ball and just get through the game. He looks pretty confident to me, and mentally stronger than other people I have seen coming back from ACL's. It might be too early to tell but the signs are good so far

Just heard a snipet of his Ch7 interview, id say he will be playing in Clare next weekend. People here complaining about ovals and even Port snipers are just being silly.

The sniper bit I understand, but why is it silly to not want Tex to play on a country oval? They're quite well known for not being up to scratch even compared to the SANFL, let alone the AFL. The guy is our most valuable asset, and is just returning from a very serious knee injury.

There aren't exactly a lot of pictures available, and I'm not even sure when this is from, but look at it...

Totally agree

However step 1 was the return to footy, step 2 is the return to afl footy and each step will have it's own mental challenges and to manage this change it's important that it is done at Tex's pace so if he feels that he needs two sanfl games to get him mentally right then that is what he needs

Does anyone know why tex doesn't even feature in the SANFL app? I thought he hadn't even played until I came on here
The SANFL are worried that if people know Tex is playing that they could put two and two together and realise that the SANFL team is actually the Crows. This is why they refer to us as 'Adelaide (SANFL)' on their website.

If the people figured that out, it would be game over for all the clubs and they will instantly dissolve into bankruptcy with Enron-style charges being laid against all those holding office whilst rivers of blood flow through the streets and plagues of insects devour first-born children across the lands.

It's a house of cards, really. How long we and the SANFL can continue this grandest of charades is limited only by the gullibility of the general populace and the continued support of the Illuminati/Reverse Vampire coalition.

Looks like it's gone to the dogs.

Is that VB's man he's meant to be tagging running around like an unregistered dog? :p

Gee I'd love to see an AFL reserves comp..
But I don't see a horizon with that on it..

I'd be more worried about a dodgy ground well before any Port "sniping" Just can't see it happening in this day and age when all players are doing this as their livelihood

Not to say the ground will be dodgy, just that "being sniped" is well down on the worry list

The condition of the oval and whether or not he plays may come down to the amount of rain we are to get this week. Of course country ovals are inferior but in the dry conditions I dont see it being a huge issue.

Different story if it rains however.

Yeh I'm sure they haven't even mowed it or done any maintenance. They wouldn't have loamed or fertilised it either. Maybe they even dug potholes to give it a more country feel. They've only known for 6 months they are basically hosting an afl game.

Ok sarcasm aside, Clare oval will be fine early on in the year and I'm sure they'll do a ground inspection. I asked my mate who lives behind the oval what he thinks and his words were "schmick, it won't look better".

And if your worried about firmness, the club had trained on a part time car park for 23 years! If he does an injury it won't be the oval, it will be the tackle, the landing, or stepping in a pothole whilst walking his dog.*

*i don't know if tex has a dog.

We should all start calling the team the reserves. What are they gonna do? Arrest us?

It's the obvious uneven surface as shown by the 50m line that I'm concerned about.

Good to see the boys get around him, his first goal in the seniors could see the entire crowd want to do that !!!

Good to see Smack start sprinting from the goal line as soon as it went through to congratulate him, despite how much harder it will be for him to get back in the side with Tex fit again.
