Injury TEX WALKER

Stupid question here so forgive me please:oops: BUT: does injuring your PCL make your ACL more vulnerable to injury too or once it's healed is everything sweet again?

Usually 8 weeks in a moon boot, then recovery (rehab) after that for 2-4 weeks.

I hate West Coast and were happy to see them do shit last year, but I have found some respect for them when they went through the year without Lecras and majority without Kennedy. Really hurts the club.

Yes it increases instability around the knee joint. Dr McCauley.

While I am no great fan of your club or Walker (but acknowledge he is a good player and well liked) I am relieved that it doesn't look too serious. Just terrible to see any player get a serious knee injury. Hope he is back for you soon enough.

I hope the knee God has had his sacrifices for this season! Surely that is enough now.

How do you know that considering Tex looked pretty glum at the end and said he had to wait until he had scans

Its the same injury Buddy had, almost identical action. I think he will be fine in two weeks. Thats just my speculation.

Hey all long don't generally post much more of a lurker/reader, but as i'm currently sitting with in a knee brace three weeks after a PCL reconstruction i thought id post on this one. I hope Big Tex is up and running again soon.

PCL's can be tricky things though especially if it's a full tear but they are generally , but not always better than ACL's

McC I'm inclined to agree and just hope I'm not being overly optimistic. He walked off the field, looked glum but not in huge pain. When I blew my ACL I was 'down for the count' - couldn't weight-bear or walk on it at all for 24 hours - it was miserable. Often the 'pop' of an ACL is really distinctive - I knew straight away. So fingers crossed its the same injury as Buddy's and not the ACL or PCL.

not good, we missed him as soon as he left the field, the question is smack or johnston

Everything I am reading is a 6-10 week injury.

My wild guess is he will come back round after the bye v GC - but far too early to tell.

Thats the media trying to sensationalize everything. Apparently there was a Carlton player down with a broken collarbone during the match and he recovered and healed during the match.

Short of not being dead, we all have no idea till the scans. Like everyone else Im just speculating.

PCL is worse case scenario. Its not an ACL. Best case is a strain. Even if he was ok to play this weekend, there is no way Sando would risk his number 1 asset (arguably) for an insignificant match in the context of the season.

Doc Larkins just said on 7 that it has all the characteristics of an ACL. Praying its not.

However if it is could he possibly go LARS?

No LARS.

Better he misses the entire 2012 then to risk his knee of reinjuring it again.

Our season looks shot either way.

I still think he is ok. 2-3 weeks.

Look we need to wait for the scans. A supposed top specialist in Adelaide missed my ACL injury clinically - almost fell off his chair when it came back as a complete rupture on MRI (and the GP at Falls Creek, who the specialist didn't believe got it right the first time). Clinically knees are difficult diagnostically - what looks like a severe injury can end up a strain and vice versa. If I was betting (which I don't), on the basis of the footage (which is unlikely to be reliable) and the fact he walked off the field I'd guess a strain - but high risk of being wrong. I don't think its an ACL - possibly PCL but hope not.
