That 70's thread

Mark, are you a big Hall & Oates fan?

I didn't mind "She's Gone" but generally they were take or leave for me, and I know what you're getting at, but Graydon was predominantly a session player, and it was the arranging behind my explanation, not his singing. In fact it was a bad choice. I suppose it would've been better directed at musicians as opposed to a "fave's of the 70's" thing. But for arguments sake if you had a listen to some of Bill Champlin's efforts you'd probably say the same and yet he's one of the more gutsy rnb vocalists around. (For a white man)

Probably just better to scroll past this one

Haha, them green and yellow meanies dont like my swearing so they multiply.....bastard's.

Evil, evil bastards.

I should also mention that while I was perusing a website of 70's arcade games, I happened across this game (which, sadly, I can't ever recall playing).....

Can't let the thread go on without a completely unnecessary "the girls of That 70's show" pictorial.

Happy to see the 70's thread take this direction, well done Woodson. That poster and others like it were famous at our fish & chip shop.

Have a few record's i purchased just for the cover and found some fairly good replicated tunes...

No worries sherrinorburley. But you know I ain't done yet with taking this 70's thread in ANOTHER direction... :D (clue: happened in 1972 and it was the 'play' that warmed for 'the dynasty') and no, it's not KISS.

but carry on...
I liked the shredded tight jeans look on those album covers back in the day..

remember RACEY?

Miles Davis had Betty Davis sing and
squeeze for him before she went solo.
Very under-rated music released mid-70's
from Ms Davis

Betty Davis

Ironically, "Bette Davis Eyes", written in 1974, was originally rejected by Kim Carnes. It was only after a new instrumental arrangement was done by Bill Cuomo that Carnes agreed to record the song and it became a huge hit. Bette Davis admitted to being a fan of the song and approached Carnes and the songwriters to thank them. Davis wrote to Carnes after the song was released and stated that she was very pleased with the song as it made her seem very up-to-date with her grandson. She had Carnes sing the song live for her at a tribute held just before her death. The song was also used in a 1982 advertising campaign for 7-Up, with the lyrics slightly altered and Pac-Man characters starring in the commercial spots. It was also used in an early-2008 Clairol Nice 'n Easy advert in the UK.

Betty Davis
Very much still alive, this Betty Davis

Betty Davis is a legend of soul and funk music. The one-time wife of Miles Davis introduced the jazzman to Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone and the broad world of electric music, leading him to create "Bitches Brew." She recorded three albums of her own in the 1970s, full of raw, sexy, outrageous funk. The first two, "Betty Davis" and "They Say I'm Different" have been re-released by the Seattle label Light in the Attic Records. Davis left the music industry in the late 1970s, and has been completely absent from the public eye since -- at one point, a fan had to track her down in the suburbs of Pittsburgh to get her $40,000 in songwriting royalties. This is her first radio interview since her performing days.

it ain't music... but lots of pandemonium followed... and ironically you make mention (post #213) of the place where it all unfolded!!

If it aint music or Woody Allens "Play It Again Sam" it's either in Pittsburg or Seattle. That's all i got until we find out....:)

Got this one for the Runaway's & Ike & Tina Turner tracks :thumbsu:
