Ok... Who gets it???

Goodes is probably the most obvious choice but will his age hurt him??

McVeigh has been suggested but it's hard to see it.

Jude is probably not guaranteed a spot so he'll probably miss out.

B2 has been out all year so is very unlikely to be considered.

I'll call it now. Kieran Jack.

I think the current leadership group is

Kirk, Goodes, C.Bolton

J.Bolton, O'Keefe, Shaw, Moore, McVeigh

Possible ones from outside that group are Jack and Malceski, maybe Tadhg.

May as well stick with the 3 captains thing next year and then hopefully go back to one in the near future.

I never liked the 3 captains policy when Kirk was around as I thought he'd be the perfect candidate to lead the club, but I can see some merit in using it next year. I'd just elevate either Jude, Malceski, ROK or Jack in place of Kirk.

I don't know the players personally or much about their leadership off-field but Kieren Jack looks like a leader to me.

EDIT: I don't know if he's single either.

If we were to have a single captain next year I'd pick Goodes. Kieren Jack to be vice captain.

I've heard, although I can't remember for life of me where, that Longmire does favour a single captain as opposed to what we've had the last few years.

Whether that happens next year or not, who knows.

I agree. I think he just needs to focus on backing up his break out year.

Paul Kelly was 23/24 when he took over as captain in 1993, Kieren Jack is about the same age, so it's not unusual for players that age to be named captain.

But, wouldn't be against Benchwarmers idea though.

If I have to choose an experience player, maybe Jarrad McVeigh or Nick Malceski perhaps.

Kieren has only just shot to media attention etc. so i think it would be better for him to either serve an internship as VC to Goodesy (what i would pick) or have him in the leadership group with a view to promoting him to captain when Craig and Goodesy retire.

I think we should go with an experienced captain after Kirky like we did with Maxfield when Kel retired. Jude to be the next 'spiritual leader' until Jack is a bit older.

Jared McVeigh to replace Brett Kirk under a three-man captaincy. He's consistent, has won a B&F, been reccomended by Matthew Lloyd and Michael Oloughlin as the next Captain, and was born in Sydney. I watched my brother play against him in under 16s.

Under a one man captaincy, elevate Goodes to the Captain. Goodes has 3 years left in his career. When he retires, Jack will be 25 or 26, to which he will be old enough, and will assume Captaincy.

As of now, Jack is far too young. Yes, he is bloods. But hes still a kid.

McVeigh is not consistent, other than being physically soft. And he is not in any way inspiring, in the style of Kel or Kirk.

Skilful, but would struggle to knock the skin off custard. I don't want that kind of player as captain of the Swans.
