Tom Browne posted he was having Achilles issues given that he snapped it in 2018 probably playing it safe? Then again Browne may not have the right limb, appendage or player so who knows.

Media folk have got the jump on our injuries this year (unfort). Hopefully not Achilles but AR mentioned a couple/few things NQR with ZW to miss last week.

Williams showed, in a final, and other games through his career, that he is more than capable of playing in any arc

He is carrying an injury/niggle that has hampered him

Let's just keep the powder dry

What are you on about, keep the powder dry...

Not saying he's no good, just saying his best pos is hbf... which he himself has proven...

Pointing to one game as proof doesn't bear much substance as for "and other games" ... name them. Can't be many. Easy to just say other games, name the games he has shown that he can consistently perform as a pure mid.

You think GWS wouldn't continue to play him as a pure mid if he could consistently produce what he did in that final v the Pies?

He is a gun player, and maybe he can prove me wrong, he has the talent.. does he have the ability? Or is he more of a weapon off half back?

If you had watched their games, you would know what he is capable of through the middle and forward

He doesn't have to prove anything to you, and like all teams, it's the sum of all parts

Have stated why he is struggling, so I would suggest people should remain patient

Of course he doesn't have to prove anything to me, but obviously if he does end up starring in a pure mid role then he inherently would.

I have watched their games, that's why I know where he plays his best footy... and that's at hbf.

And no, you have an opinion as to why he's struggling... nothing factual.

He can play in a number of areas and should/will be used wherever it suits the team, just like Martin and like a lot of players in the modern game

As for opinion v fact about why he is struggling, it's only your opinion

Exactly, and it's clearly not suiting the team where he's been played...

As for opinion v fact about why he is struggling, it's only your opinion

Did you just figure that out?

So you have got nothing, again?

I've got a set of eyes and common sense.

He made 2 coach killer mistakes against the Lions. Mistakes that you can't blame an injury like general soreness on.

Believe what you want. Just don't make baseless accusations that I'm lining him up and can't wait to take fire...

2 coach killing mistakes? Interesting. You suggesting he was dropped and he is not carrying an injury?

Show me where I have made any accusations?

Early days, has all the makings of being a good midfielder, has been playing injured and underdone so far, give him a chance to prove himself...
That's not the point. It's early days on Dow and setters and Co. We've got too many of that type and had Sps playing in the back line.

If Sps in the back line is a 4 and Williams in the middle is a 7 but Williams in the back line is a 9 and Sps in the middle is a 6-7. What combo makes more sense for the team???

Both... SPS never defense again, midfield and forward Williams same also wing, possibly backline if needed... Dow and Setterfield will be players, just need some time...

I disagree, no problem recruiting him but one of the selling points was as a midfielder, we've got class in cunners sps and setters, pace in cunners and Dow and power in Stocker and kemp, all not getting time in the middle. The inside midfield did not need adding to. Hopefully he's shuffled outside.

I think this will happen...he’ll have a crack as a midfielder and realise soon enough that he’s better suited at halfback and move back there, freeing up opportunity for SPS, Cunners, Stocker, etc.

Part of the midfield conundrum is that Cripps doesn’t have a resting position. We’ve obviously tried him up forward, but he doesn’t get the craft and can’t kick for goal (though I’ve noticed a very slight uptick on this lately... emphasis on the word slight).

If we could rest Cripps out of there for longer, we could get more midfield minutes into the younger players.

I’m taking Arr0w’s view that Zac Williams is carrying injuries. But the fact remains that this is the second season in a row we have recruited a mature player to essentially replace a young player in the team who was developing well. Lochie O’Brien’s 2019 form was pretty fair, and he was elbowed aside for Newnes. Now Setters is basically replaced by a combination of Walsh’s move from the wing and the arrival of Williams.

It’s all well and good to do this if the young players don’t look like they’re coming through. But I’d argue LOB in 2019 and Setters in 2020 both showed enough potential to deserve greater persistence. Instead, their confidence is shot... to the point LOB barely gets a game, and when he does, he looks out of sorts. It’s recruiting which shows no faith in our player development.

This is hit nail on head!!!

Time waits for no one. If we are seriously wanting to win premiership no. 17, IMHO.
-Curnow, Murphy, Betts need to be phased out very soon.
-Cripps to be pushed forward more (please kick straight!)
-Players recruited as on ballers need to be played there/rotated through more: Cunningham, Setterfield, Dow, Fisher, SPS and Stocker
-Lob and SPS to play on wings. Newnes is just a stop gap.
-Williams to go back to his best position - back.
-Fingers crossed he has a good injury run - I believe McGovern is a better version of Plowman. Much quicker and explosive to shut down smalls and talls.
-Cottrell must keep playing as he has mongrel and massive tank and speed. Could he occasionally tag and or lock down opposition gun smalls?
-TDK must play when fit and Pittonet is second fiddle/in 2s
-Need another developing ruckman, key back and fwd, small fwd and back
