Just saw he was a real estate agent as well.
I don't trust/rate big 4 consulting. But i'd trust them with my life before I trust a real estate agent to run the club.

I am all for what Sayers is doing. He has seen that there is something that is simply not right with where the club is at and how it is run and has decided from day 1 to put his stamp/signature all over it.
Any challenger is by people who do not want change.... I am sorry, whatever we current have must be changed. So I agree with you... any backing by Elliott or any previous powerbrokers must be ignored.
We must maintain a single unified board with a clear direction. Last thing we need is fighting at board level.

Loccisano is a serial windbag, not too many corporates can stomach him. A lot of tip, little iceberg..

MLG isn’t just an “investor”, given I’ve been in commercial property for 20yrs I’ve got a pretty fair understanding & I’ve worked on MLGs properties.

These Carlton Now people aren’t embarrassing the club, just themselves really. Every club has these types.
It’s one thing to rant about how much better a job you’d do running the CFC than MLG/Sayers/Whoever, but it’s another thing entirely to lack the self-awareness to know that if you actually got the responsibility you’d 100% balls it up. Because if loving an entity qualified you to run it, I’d be on the board of Treasury Wines and the Mandarin Oriental Group.
Nothing wrong with rival tickets. Everything wrong with rival tickets comprised of people who mistake the ability to criticize with the ability to perform.
For what it’s worth, I think Sayers is promising. He’s 100% done the right thing by calling an all-encompassing review of football ops as soon as he was able, and I’d put decent money on Brad Lloyd not being at Carlton much longer.
As others have said, it’s entirely feasible and far from unprecedented in business to stagger exits of key people and make as many as you can look voluntary/by mutual agreement.
Imagine the optics of sacking the senior coach, the CEO and the Head of Football all on the same day (as some seem to think should have happened). Club In Crisis would be the story and it wouldn’t go away in a hurry.
We all saw Liddle at the presser. Did he look like a guy who got a glowing review and felt confident in his future at Carlton? To me he looked like someone who’s thinking it’d be very, very wise to start looking for his next gig.
And Sayers very much comes across as someone who’ll have his replacement already decided upon when Liddle finds that gig. A clean kill.
Gut feeling for me is radical change but staged over time, more methodical than reactive.
I don’t know any of these people but I’ve met and worked with these archetypes.
Anyway Carlton now (not to be confused with the rabble that is Carlton Now) feels to me like it has the chance to transform into the Carlton we all hope for.
God, I hope so.
