I also do not have the volume on when watching our games on TV. The commentators only call what we can see with our own eyes anyway & their opinions are clouded by what is PC in the eyes of the AFL & the respective broadcasters.

I still can't get out of my mind a certain Fox Footy 'expert' doing the half time review of one of our games last season & putting up a graphic showing Plowman his opponent too much space. That would have been all good if Plowman was actually the player in the picture, or more importantly, was actually playing that day. It is this sort of ignorance of who the players are which is really annoying. These commentators are well paid for their efforts so therefore should be expected to actually know what they are talking about. Instead they are all competing to be the commentator who comes up with the best one-liner.

Yep sorry to say it but Rex Hunt was the beginning of the end of descent AFL commentary with his over the top crap and nicknames for everyone, which just got ridiculous, it started with the Cranium and went down hill quickly from there. RIP The Greats

This is part of a bigger problem in society - the cult of personality. A famous person doesn't have to say something intelligent, they just have to say something for it to be newsworthy.

In football this is manifesting itself as presenters talking more about themselves than the game; coverage filled with inane personal anecdotes and manufactured tension between commentators. No one I know asked for this, yet this is where we are.

I could listen/watch multiple games of footy a week, but I don't give a flying **** about what Luke Darcy had for breakfast, what colour pants BT is wearing or how Eddie's hair is messy.

Here's a tip, footy commentators; why don't you talk about the BLOODY FOOTY!?!?

I wonder if they realise this is why the Footy Shows ratings have dived, they spend 10sec on each game and the rest is just crap upon crap upon crap, sad really as I used to enjoy the footy show along long time ago.

While waiting in the security line for Rd1 at the G today, I got talking to the lovely couple next me. Turns out they were Nick Newman's girlfriend's parents. They had to buy memberships because Nick couldn't get enough tickets.

They told me how much happier he is with us than he was at Sydney. Staff and coaches have welcomed him with open arms ( my interpretation of our conversation) whereas at Sydney it was quite standoffish and cold.

Apparently, Horse texted him this week wishing Nick well. Something he'd not done while Nick was in Sydney

Also, well done Nick for signing up 2 new members.

Arranged for a painting quote today. Painter asked me what I’d been up to and I mentioned the footy.

Turns out he was at the footy last night and he’s a RICHMOND SUPPORTER.

He came across as reasonable and constructive in his comments about Carlton.

JSilvagni - Was 191 and now 194 but at the same weight of 89kg. Not sure about that one.
Dow - Was 184 and now 187. Really?
De Koning - Was 201 and now 203. Fair enough.
Fisher - Was 175 and is now 177.

CCurnow - Was 194 and now 192. It was obvious Charlie wasn't 194.

Mostly gains in height, but a couple of losses also.
It's good that we started this process from scratch, this time around. In the whole, it seems a lot more accurate than for what we had up a couple of months back.
