I don't think it's worth comparing Claude to any of our main logos because he was never used as one, so I think it's safe to assume that whatever factors were considered in his creation were probably different to what you'd consider for a main logo. In fact I think having a secondary logo gives us the freedom to do things like appealing to kids without compromising the integrity of our main logo, perhaps this may even have been one of the reasons that led to his creation and implementation.Theory on the problem with the logo - the Uncanny Valley

Claude was clearly not very 'crow-like'

He's on two legs, wearing shoes...he has arms..and teeth!
But we're OK with that because he's a caricature. He is very far from an actual crow.
The there's the new logo which is still a caricature of a crow, but is closer to a real crow. Not close enough that people react to it like a photo, but not far enough away. So for some people, it is in the creepy in between area - the uncanny valley.

That said, it is still far enough away for me. I think it's average, but not the disaster that some seem to.
