There's no a single thing GM did right by Holden post 2013. They set it up to fail.

It did ok! It made around 350Kw that day, i've since upgraded the fuel system and ignition systems so currently on e85 and making 370kw at the hubs.
Plenty of fun in a 1200kg car.

Thankyou, love it. Next up I just have to find a Walkinshaw.
Always preferred VK to VL, possibly nostalgia and bias, but the square gauges just tip it for me in terms of unique 80s fads, but that does look really nice and retro.

Is it just me or did the VL when sitting inside it have a very distinctive running sound? I haven't been in one for like 10 years.

It's hard to say i havent driven a standard one for quite some time now.
The fuel pumps can be quite loud though.

I don't know how Holden ever expected to pull this off in the mid 80s lol. It got dropped quicker than a hot potato.

I think it's pretty cool, but I wouldn't have one only because I like the analogue VK dash better. Probably my second favourite dash design behind HQ.
Looked at buying a Nissan 300zx once with a digital dash, looked like a transformer on the inside.
What's the dial on the left for? Right is headlights, wipers are on the blinker stick, I can't remember what it is.

I have fond memories of the R31 Skyline Silouhette GTS my old man bought back in 1990. 5 speed manual, 140kw engine, had some real kick. Learnt to drive in that thing.

I reckon it's "wiper dwell". The wiper control on the stalk was standard on all mid '80's holdens (I remember a UX Torana with one). But the "dwell" or intermittent speed control was only for the optioned up models - but needed a separate control

Yeah, I can't remember what though. Maybe a light switch or something. It was a weird layout in general. Delving deeper maybe cruise control.
Anyway, my current Mitsi is less "modern".

Holden VF's have big round gauges more in common with Toranas from the 60s than anything from the 80s.
