Maybe not enough room in the salary cap for all.. Remember Buddy was here and the AFL had taken away 10% of our cap.

I recall Horse wanting to keep him, and reading between the lines, salary came into it and also Mitchells desire to earn more $$ and play a more senior role.n good coin
Im a bit sick of reading that every trade/selection/draft pick etc, that (in hindsight) hasn't gone perfectly for the Swans (despite none of us knowing all the details)... Is Horses fault!
Theres plenty of other people contributing to all these decisions.. and if its just Horse, then all you critics should pay a lot more respect as Horse is doing the jobs of 10 people!

At some Clubs like Geelong, players on big bucks have taken a cut to keep or attract another player. I am unaware our blokes have done this. Hannabery, JPK , Jack would have been on good coin. Low balling was biting off our nose to spite our face.

Has Parker ever been an A-grade inside mid? He is a very good midfielder but I don't think being on the inside is a particular strength of his.

Kennedy was an A grade all timer though
