I can feel it in my bones........this boy will be a 200+ player.

He has something very special (to coin a phrase).

His ruck work is constantly improving but tonight it was overshadowed by his efforts in the forward line. He could be a very very dangerous forward as there are not many defenders tall enough and at the same time quick enough to go with him.

You can bookmark this....... Mad Dog says Griff will go down as being our second best ever ruckman.

Get on board - you know you want to

;)

That second goal he kicked was awesome :thumbsu: The old one-two with Torney and bang! he snapped a goal :D Certainly a lot to like about the lad. Finished with 13 hit outs.

You have to be excited, don't you. :thumbsu:

This kid is learning and improving at a frantic rate - did some very special things tonight.

Looks like we've found ourselves a top shelf long term ruckman for the future.

Reminds me in many ways of a young Dean Cox.

I like it!! :D :thumbsu:

We got a genuine gun from a rookie list and props to Jimmy for finding him and the coaching staff for developing him.

He IS something special. He could have easily had 4 goal tonight. GREAT player in the making.

Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff Griff

That was a fun chant.

Griffin’s performance tonight was extremely exciting. He took 2 or 3 very solid contested marks, and was unlucky not to kick 3 goals. What impresses me most is that for someone 202cm he moves so incredibly well. As Mad Dog said, not many defenders will be able to match-up on him due to his height and speed.

When Maric comes back into the side I say let him be the backup for Hudson and just leave Griffin in the forward line on a permanent basis. With his height and his ability to take contested marks, there’s no doubt he’ll cause some headaches for opposition coaches. ;)

Im all for leaving him in the forward line when maric comes back. If he can out body ruckman already(or at least break even) he can out muscle puny defenders. Im on board

he could definatley play that tall forward option.

just think how good he will be in a few more years when he's built up a bit more muscle. he'll be like (insert taller forward playing ruckman here, i cant think of one right now;))

i sort of compare him to otten's, good up forward and is great in the ruck

does this spell the end to maric? and even biglands?

or do we develop him into a centre half forward ruckman? he is the best mark out of the lot of them and looks great up forward! but can we play with a perminant 3 big man side?

after seeing how this guy has impoved with game time i am sorta glad that we let matty clarke go! its hard for me to say that but its kinda true

I don't know if anyone else noticed his goundball get inside 50 in the 3rd quarter but it was below his ankles, he picked it up cleanly off the bounce in the space of less than a second!!!

I went troppo when he kicked his second goal, unbelieveable agility and was amazingly the first link in the chain to the goal as well!!!!!

Get on this boy.. he is a super talent! :thumbsu:

Do you think we can afford to have Hudson, Griff, and Maric in the same team? Griff could be used permanantly as a forward.

agree 100% - deep tall marking option.....:thumbsu:

ie

Bode, Welsh, Griffatron
Perrie, Bock, Bird

This is the arousing part.......the first thing to notice about Rehnny's first few games was how good he was below the ankles - sure hands - scooping the ball on the run.

That goal on the run snapped across the body was very very classy.....never looked like missing.

Heck - he might even make me change my "Never handball to a ruckman" rule......:D
