In all seriousness, I think we botched this. We made a bunch of points about the extenuating circumstances and the reasonableness of McGovern's actions without actually clearly stating which parts of the grading should be changed.

Essendon's medical report says he was "treated for concussion". And yet, he's since been cleared of concussion. All we had to do was argue that if he's been cleared of concussion, there's no reason to claim that there was anything above low impact to the head. It smacks of sly wording on Essendon's behalf. Maybe get a doctor of our own as a witness to question their assessment.

Think we could have done better.
Wouldn't have mattered what we did.

All jokes aside, the small distance between the boundary and the LED advertising sign is an issue
It’s true, but it’s been like that since footy began, I love how you can get close to the action, I wouldn’t change it for the world, at the end of the day we all love the coliseum atmosphere and the violence. It’s human nature.

Love this league.

Yeah from what I've seen grace is incompetent with these things.

That argument would've overturned the suspension.

We were challenging the very classification of rough conduct, which requires the action be unreasonable.

Rubbish. We need to learn how to play the system better.
Arguing the degree he bonked his head is irrelevant after vision was played ad nausium of old mate looking half dead entering the taxi on the way to Royal Perth. Fix was in then. Also the AFL admitting culpability over its sideline furniture and personnel?

The AFL Tribunal is a joke. If it is a West Coast player reported, you can guarantee that the suspension will stand.
The tribunal is very easily manipulated. Of question is the double standard in bringing this report over the stomping and Bellchambers incidents? Really? After the MCG grandfinal for life and many other examples recently, we have clearly entered a dark era of Vic bias. Its the worst its been in many a year.

I am getting to the stage where I am going to stop watching AFL. From the ridiculously biased commentary; the idiots at AFL house ruining the game with moronic rule changes, corrupt fixturing and general shafting of all non-Victorian teams in general, is ruining the sport.
Its all purely about the money now.

Speaking of the corrupt fixtures, why is that Sydney get 3 games at home in a row?

Never understood why the AFL suspend players unless it’s a punch or something on that level. It’s absolutley comical to rub a player out a week for something like this. Just fine the players and be done with it, but not sit them for a week. Embarrassing really.

Not sure we botched it per se... Just feel like having a QC argue a case in front of the AFL tribunal is like having Steven Hawking attend a dinner with the Kardashians. Just to much brain for the audience to like, comprehend.

n.b, I am aware that Steven Hawking is in the same medical state as Essendon's medical team reported Guelfi to be in.

It’s little shit like this that really pisses me off. The outward corruption, the back room deals, scheduling VFL powerhouses to play at the MCG 100 times in a row - all of that is almost impressive in how blatant it is.

Would it kill you to use the correct logo of your reigning premiers on your official pages?

This is spot on. Rule #1 is do not confuse the jury, especially when that jury involves Jason Johnson.

A chair as our representative might have been more at the right level.

Can I suggest a peaceful protest? I propose that we all refuse to sit in a chair for the next 10 minutes. Let’s get the message across

Tried to find a gif of General Kael’s Last words and was going to pretend that would be McGoverns speech to the boys before Saturday. Alas I failed.

That's such a good point. What lesson are they trying to teach here? The whole system hinges around finding a punishment if someone gets hurt, regardless of whether it was intentional or they had control of the situation.
