All u so called supporters who have been bagging Wayne Carey can now jump on and start supporting his because he has been your stand out forward this year. It was Carey V Essendon on Friday night and it was great to see the King kick a bag of goals.

Wasn't a bad effort getting six from the duck.

He isn't a big goal kicker, never was. He just takes the best defender and normally can still contribute.

The problem for Adelaide is there are not enough other options so it makes it easier for other teams to just drop a second player back and make it a 2 on 1 constest.

I always thought Carey racked up a fair number of goals for a centre half forward.

In fact he probably has more goals than any other non-full forward.

You wish. :p

It's more a case of
"I'm not dead yet. Come back here and I'll bite you to death.." :D

Amen to that!

Howver SuperWayne must face his cryptonite on Friday Night. The evil Telstra Dome.

In all seriousness I don't think he'll have a big one on Friday, purely because the hard surface has in the past been very debiletating to his body. Plus he'll take the best defender, I think it goes without saying this week the Crows need 5 or 6 guys to kick multiple numbers and entrench the once all so mighty Collingwood to there rightful postition on the Premiership ladder.

And Tas???

Wayne a contributor. 700 Goals from centre half forward isn't merely contributing, I can tell you.

FWIW I love Wayne too. Perhaps more than all of you's.

I am Arthur, King of the Britons.
[pause]
I seek the finest and the bravest knights in the land to join me in my court at Camelot.
[pause]
You have proved yourself worthy. Will you join me?
[pause]
You make me sad. So be it. Come, Patsy.
BLACK KNIGHT:
None shall pass.
ARTHUR:
What?
BLACK KNIGHT:
None shall pass.
ARTHUR:
I have no quarrel with you, good Sir Knight, but I must cross this bridge.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Then you shall die.
ARTHUR:
I command you, as King of the Britons, to stand aside!
BLACK KNIGHT:
I move for no man.
ARTHUR:
So be it!
ARTHUR and BLACK KNIGHT:
Aaah!, hiyaah!, etc.
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's left arm off]
ARTHUR:
Now stand aside, worthy adversary.
BLACK KNIGHT:
'Tis but a scratch.
ARTHUR:
A scratch? Your arm's off!
BLACK KNIGHT:
No, it isn't.
ARTHUR:
Well, what's that, then?
BLACK KNIGHT:
I've had worse.
ARTHUR:
You liar!
BLACK KNIGHT:
Come on, you pansy!
[clang]
Huyah!
[clang]
Hiyaah!
[clang]
Aaaaaaaah!
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right arm off]
ARTHUR:
Victory is mine!
[kneeling]
We thank Thee Lord, that in Thy mer--
BLACK KNIGHT:
Hah!
[kick]
Come on, then.
ARTHUR:
What?
BLACK KNIGHT:
Have at you!
[kick]
ARTHUR:
Eh. You are indeed brave, Sir Knight, but the fight is mine.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh, had enough, eh?
ARTHUR:
Look, you stupid bastard. You've got no arms left.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Yes, I have.
ARTHUR:
Look!
BLACK KNIGHT:
Just a flesh wound.
[kick]
ARTHUR:
Look, stop that.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Chicken!
[kick]
Chickennn!
ARTHUR:
Look, I'll have your leg.
[kick]
Right!
[whop]
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right leg off]
BLACK KNIGHT:
Right. I'll do you for that!
ARTHUR:
You'll what?
BLACK KNIGHT:
Come here!
ARTHUR:
What are you going to do, bleed on me?
BLACK KNIGHT:
I'm invincible!
ARTHUR:
You're a looney.
BLACK KNIGHT:
The Black Knight always triumphs! Have at you! Come on, then.
[whop]
[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's last leg off]
BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh? All right, we'll call it a draw.
ARTHUR:
Come, Patsy.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh. Oh, I see. Running away, eh? You yellow bastards! Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off!

My smokey is Fergus Watts. I hope we give him a chance. He is one bloke that can take Magpies by surprice and kick a couple out of FP

If he has just one more good game for the year, geez I hope it's Friday night. Will be tough for him to have his 3rd good performance in a row, but I'd love him to silence a few of the Collingwood faithful and put behind some of the memories of last year's debacle (Jason Cloke *shakes head*)

44 + 9 = 43. now i feel much better :D

maths was always one of my strong points. ;)
Hmm 43 minus 25 minus she was only 16 equals 12 years difference.

Noddy Noddy ;) :D

Or he could fail to get a touch ala Trent Hentschels first game and pretty much second game last year and blow his confidence to bits.

He was very consistant, he would get 3-4 goals a game from CHF which was excellent but still not a 10 goal kicker.

I actually dont remember him ever kicking that many goals, i remember a few 7s, more often than not he would get a few goals here and there.

He is not a traditional CHF, he played very close to goal and alot of his marks were at a kickable distance, it helped that he was a better kick at goal from 60 than he was from 30.

I still think he can contribute everyweek, kick 3 or 4 goals if the delivery is good and if he has support.

The best thing about the Duck was that he created alot of goal kicking opportunities for the players around him, not just that he kicked goals himself. If you have a crumber that knows what he is doing you would hit the pack around his feet and you had an excellent chance to get a shot at goal.

Forward pockets these days are more interested in contesting for mark of the year than to rove the loose ball. Not a dig at Adelaide, just from what I have seen from most clubs this year.

I don't know if he will have a big game or not. He struggled at Telstra when it was concrete hard and he was having groin and joint injuries but I haven't heard if he is carrying an injury.

He kicked 4 or 5 there against us last year when it was alot harder. If he has a problem it will be recovering the following week.

I think he will be happier playing there than at the MCG, could be wet all week here and I am sure he would much prefer dry conditions.

He is a contributor, do the math. At the start of the year he had 719 goals from 268 games. Thats less than 3 goals a game average.

You are not going to win many games if your key forward is kicking 3 goals or less a game on average.

The fact he can contribute from a long way from goal made him a great player, but he very rarely got large bags of goals and didn't do it consistantly.

He did not play all his games from CHF either, he was often playing from the goal square, even for us.

All I am saying is even at his age he can be a great contributor, but he still needs the help and support from other forwards to take the pressure off him.

IIRC, Duck's personal best is 11 goals. Now I am not 100% certain about this but I think it was 11 and I think it might have been against Melbourne.
