Guarantee that "bang lectern" was written in her talking points. What a phony.

All because Penny Wong is unable to cry on cue for the cameras like she can. Seriously, that was what that table banging was about - 'I haven't seen Penny Wong shed a single tear'. FMD.

Glorious performance. Sadly it came a week late and has missed out on making the Oscar nominations shortlist.

And a reminder that not one of the past and present Coalition members who are putting on a show this week have yet to identify a single policy or action that would have prevented the Bondi shootings - not one.

Why aren't the media asking this question instead of quoting the Government as a cue for their performative faux outrage?

Actually Australians ARE all like that.

Other nationalities ARE all like that.

Jews ARE all like that.

News flash: EVERYBODY is racist. I’m racist. I’ll bet every single poster on BF is racist.

Throughout our hunter-gatherer evolution of tens of thousands of years, xenophobia was a critical survival tool.

Now we’re living in cities and daily rubbing shoulders with strangers, it’s become problematic, and we need to find ways to reduce and eliminate it.

We’re all racist; the question is simply how racist each one of us is, and how willing we are to confront our own racism for the betterment of our wider society.

Sussan Ley suggesting there was something extraordinary about one act of social exclusion on a bus is out of line.

The person making that post, suggesting we Australians would never stoop to that sort of thing (FMD schoolchildren freeze each other out on the school bus every bloody day) is also out of line.

Imagine thinking this schlock like performance with made up stories is what leadership looks like. Claiming antisemitism is rampant. That all of us are complicit.

She shames all of us.

School aged kids getting bullied because of a difference. Thanks for letting us know of this breaking development Sussan, I’m sure that hasn’t ever happened in Australian history before…… /s

I did hear a story from a work colleague of their kids (of East Asian descent) getting bullied and called racist names at an Australian school recently. Would it be remiss of me to say that came from the recent media stories about the “yellow peril”, that has been exacerbated by the LNP and right wing media in recent years?

Somehow I don’t think the opposition will be telling that story at a press conference

Did Pauline cry?

Nah her reaction was more along these lines.

Ley claiming she is offering bipartisan support by drafting new laws and terms of reference of a royal commission for Labor to implement. You aren't the fecking government, you donkey, and bipartisan support isn't telling the government what to do.

You can see Labor have had enough and are on the front foot now. They have enough receipts that's she's gonna come out of this looking like an idiot. The Liberal Party really doesn't know how politics works these days.

Enough rope etc.

The media attempting to maintain an atmosphere of hysteria will wear thin quickly as well.

It fails to understand how people process grief and that Australians are less self deceptively cynical than the British, or unhinged than the Yanks.

The Australian people will want practical solutions and will start to push back against overreach more quickly than the assorted punditry and political class will like. Minns is about to experience this quite soon and risks letting himself be turned from "hero" to goofy jackbooted villain.

His impulse to just censor or ban any form of protest is going to see him very quickly come unstuck, because NSWpol and his government will abuse said powers at the very first opportunity. Even odds he's dumb enough to be drawn into an unedifying political spectacle over Invasion Day protests.

As for the Libs, they offer nothing but a way for reactionary media orgs to fill columns and minutes. Which is not good for their political prospects for numerous reasons.

It is amazing that they cannot see it. Even Howard - their only living hero - whether you hate him or not he and his government did project an image of basic competence. A perception that they had matters under control.

I look at Sussan Ley and the rest of the current and ex Liberals and the last thing I see is a viable alternative government. If they were in government and behaved like they have I would not be surprised one bit if they were proposing USA style ICE teams in response.

Australia for the most part is peaceful, does have a very high level of social cohesion and tolerance, and I do not believe normal Australians generally want any part in the division One Nation and the Liberals are trying to stoke.

But they cannot help themselves. Their lack of discipline is incredible.

Are they trying to outdo each other with the faux outrage? If so, we've got a new clubhouse leader....

Shut up McCormack seriously, I can't wait for parliament to resume in the new year and they persist with this attack angle for the foreseeable future. So many receipts Labor can attack with. Unhinged rants like this are going to be seen as embarrassing and hypocritical once all the facts are on the table.

The Nats are desperate to make this about anything other than gun control.

Michael’s not upset about antisemitism. He’s upset that his weapons industry donors aren’t going to be able to sell as many guns in this country

If only Sussan, Scotty, Josh and McCormack got this angry about their own friggin' RoboDebt scandal.

But not to worry. Bit by bit, and certainly before the next Federal election, the truth will come out about the series of events leading up to this tragedy and which politicians both here and overseas rightly bear their share of responsibility.

Like this fact for example..

There's a few amusing tales from Rudd's chaotic PM stint including him wanting to sign off all Departmental expenditure at one point bringing things to a complete standstill

Demanding briefs to be provided at 8am the following day that went unread for weeks

25yo "advisers" telling Dep Secretaries how things worked
He was ahead of his time, Donald has followed his lead to a tee.
