This from a supporter of a club who've actually had a worse record than Fitzroy over the course of the last decade, and have consistently been in massively more debt since the turn of the millennium than Fitzroy ever was, while being propped up by large zero-interest loans by the AFL, as yet not paid back.

He has the memory of a gypsy moth. Or perhaps it's wilful blindness. Whichever it may be, it's accompanied by remarkable arrogance - without any logical basis for said arrogance either. (Weren't Carlton also beaten by the Gold Coast last time out?)

Personally, I think it's a case of rampant Dunning-Kruger syndrome.
Gold comeback Wona!

No I don't.

I don't support the AFL, I support my club only.
Exactly the same with Melbourne supporters. And those of any other team.

Who would they support if Melbourne were kicked out?

Way to show some empathy.

Who cares.

Why would I have empathy for them? First world problems...

There were only 13,000 there on Sunday and I wouldn't be surprised if they have less throughout the year. Why would you waste your weekends watching such rubbish on a consistent basis? There's sticking fat and then there's masochism.

he's made too many bad calls since his arrival to use the 'inherited a mess' excuse

the players aren't playing for him, it's all over

To be fair they were playing the gold coast, in the wet, on mother's day in the twilight timeslot...

I am having trouble working this out. He was given the green light to clean house. Word round the campfire is that both Neeld and Craig couldn't believe the condition of some of the senior players coming back from their break on taking over. A couple with a guts. So you would think that 2013 is year one (as in a full preseason).
Now there is another team over the West Gate that has won one more game in the same period?Maybe he's a better salesman...........I've got no idea

The suggestion that Neeld's tough approach was arrogant and showed he couldn't communicate with young players really grates with me. So he should come in softly, softly and coddle them? A kick in the pants is exactly what some of these players needed. There was a bunch of top 10 draft picks simply not living up to their potential. If a kick up the pants turned them into pea hearts not willing to play for their club, their fans, hell, their own careers, that is a greater indictment on them than it is on Neeld.

Hence why I said that when he goes, he should just let fly and public rip into the pea-hearted ones.

Also, wasn't Dean Bailey mocked and ridiculed for being too soft on the players, and babying them too much? Why would people then pot Neeld for doing the opposite?

It would be interesting who would be the caretaker coach. If it were Rawlings it would be a bit of irony. Rawlings - the caretaker specialist.

This decade's Alan McConnell. Appropriate, considering how Fitzroy-esque the Demons appear ATM, save for the players actually giving a shit on the field.

Or even more ironic, If Craig were to be the interim coach, the team that helped sink his coaching days at adelaide (the penultimate belting before the cats rewrote a few records) is the same team he has to keep afloat before he hands the leaky boat to another aspiring captain.

Wasn't it also a big win over the Demons as interim coach of the Crows that really sealed the deal for Craig becoming the Adelaide coach? First they giveth, then they taketh away!

True, I was almost surprised that 13,000 would turn up to watch them play GC late on a Sunday. Surely spending the day at an overpriced restaurant is a better day out.

The Dogs are at least competitive when it comes to contested ball and have demolished the Lions. Macca clearly has the player's respect, but lacks the cattle. Need lacks both.

could throw in coaching nous there as well

Sure, why not? We might even score ourselves another Jack Watts

I'm afraid your practice of invariable depreciation towards us on the MB continues to undermine the plausibility of your club identification. Perhaps if you sought to be more constructive in your remarks from time to time, as opposed to your usual board of fare, it might give the rest of us Demons slightly more faith in your legitimacy, as it were...

And I thought he barracked for the saints!

I think it's the "Winmar to Lockett" handle that alerted me... ;)

Just so mate. Although I felt like ramping up the sarcasm just a little more in my own rejoinder, naturally :D

... and I'm afraid I couldn't give a fk what you think. Just like the majority of the posters here.

I've defended my club when there's reason to. If you want to question who I support because of some light-hearted banter with other supporters... go right ahead. I couldn't possibly care less.

Ok mate, but seriously, Melbourne supporter - "Winmar to Locket"? You aren't seeing some dissonance there?

Agree , the kid is not a David Dench , youngest captain of his club at the time ,
someone like Dench had the added benefit of quality players around him , where as Melbourne don't , IMO , from an outsiders POV , Nathan Jones should have been made captain and the kid trengrove left to worry
about his own development without the added burden of captain of a struggling team. As far as Neeld is concerned , if the club is already down $1.5 Mil this year , sacking him on top of that wouldn't be feasible IMO , he would have to walk himself.
You're post is entirely accurate, correct and beyond reproach - except, of course, for your appalling execution of punctuation
