The only positive of that article is more Freo players than WC. And they really had to manipulate it a lot to get Nic Nat in as ruck. So they looked at hitouts and went nup NN doesn't rate close to highest. Looked at hitouts won and hitout win %, nup. Went to hitouts to advantage went nup - even Darcy has a better % than NN btw. Then decided what if we forget stoppages exist and just go with centre bounces! Yep he's the best at that - get him in.

edit - btw I know why he became a contortionist to put him in. Could you imagine the tears from WC fans if there wasn't a single WC player in it? Would be hilarious but could reduce The Worst's readership to zero.

I thought the same. Grundy had more hitouts and disposals average. If you were picking that team on stats, wouldn't you just pick the ruckman that had the best stats? For the same reason you had Dusty, Fyfe and Bont on the bench because the numbers weren't the top. So, to not p5ss my readers off, I will do 21 positions by stats and the 22nd by what makes my readership get up in the morning and pick up our paper. Right...

Menegola was either injured or on the comeback from injury for just about the entire time at Freo.

I don't think Naughton does enough just yet to be gold stamped the best player in that draft. From the moments we've seen here and there he definitely could be, but that's based on the assumption he'll be able to perform on a regular basis, which he hasn't done yet.
