The current Israeli regime is committing atrocities in Gaza that are unforgiveable and unjustifiable. There's near-universal agreement about this. Those responsible should be held accountable and Palestine must be a free and independent nation state with full international backing to ensure this cannot happen ever again.

But... Israel also still has the right to remain a free and independent nation as well.

After the Holocaust in WW2, Germany was still Germany. After the atrocities Imperial Japan committed across the Indo-china region in WW2, Japan was still Japan. The actions of a government/army don't mean that a country stops being a country.

Saying Israel shouldn't exist after this is (intentionally or not) playing directly into the hands of bad-faith anti-semitic arguments.

Condemn the actions. Condemn the government and the IDF. Condemn those hardliner nutjobs who push settlements into Palestinian land. You have my wholehearted support for all of that.

Don't say 'Israel must go' and 'Israel must be decolonized'.

No it wasn't - it was literally split in half to prevent it ever committing such an atrocity again. It took decades and major world events before Germany was permitted to reunite.

After the atrocities Imperial Japan committed across the Indo-china region in WW2, Japan was still Japan.

Japan's surrender obligations were immense and it still has vast US bases all over its territory. It lost the right to have anything but a Self Defence Force.

Probably a good example for Israel though - international troops basedv there to prevent the return of a gen ocidal regime like the current one is a good idea.

Any Palestinian alive today is only breathing because of the direction their grandparents ran when they were attacked in 1948.
There are Palestinians living in Jordan, in Lebanon and around the world with keys to their homes that are 76 years old. Its sickening what has occurred.

So I stand firm that Israel must go. It is an illegal state. Just because the Brits and the US recognise it for their own political interest, it does not mean history is rewritten and we so easily forget the blood of those it was founded on.
It should not be recognised in any way, shape or form and all the pain and suffering in the region is on the back of the Zionist led agenda.

Accepting Israel is accepting the destruction of Palestine.

Also, what's the freudian slip with "We have executed..." when talking about 13000 people. How many of those people did they summarily execute and designate as combatants afterward? Not as eye opening as when he differentiated between a "civilian combatant" and a "terrorist" tho.

At no point did he mention "civilians" just the difference between terrorists and civilian combatants. It certainly implies that Israel's government, who he is speaking for, sees all civilians as combatants and legit targets.
