Brother in law got a fright when this snake came out of the box. Seen many things hitch a ride in banana boxes before, but never seen a decent sized brown tree snake.

Dunno if that's an actual brown snake.

It might be a night tiger/brown tree snake. Still mildly venomous but not deadly.

Its not an actual brown snake as in Eastern Brown Snake, which is the really dangerous one. Its a Brown Tree Snake aka a Night Tiger.

They are night snakes, that's why that one's eyes are like they are. We had one living in the bathroom for a while. It was mating on the lawn one night right outside.

The have venom but it shouldn't be deadly the way a Brown Snake is deadly.

So my best little mate and I are up in Caloundra. Last year the top of Bribie Island was breachED by the Pacific and the entrance to Pumistone Passage closed up. With the cyclone just now, King tides and general erosion, the above link is a vid of the northern end of Bribie. Just the little bit left at the top, then a sandbar that still protects Golden Beach and the remnants of Bribie. Just had a brunch at Golden Beach .... the outlook across the Bribie sandbar, with a cooling breeze, made it quite a picturesque and cool place to break my fast

Love pistachio. Always been one of my favourite flavours. Seeing it as the new trend on every single reel has somehow ruined it for me. Coming to terms with the fact I'm a good hipster.

It really is! But yeah everything is pistachio now. Donuts, chocolate, cookies, everything. And they all rock. But it's everywhere, lol.

so the state govenment wants to ban machetes,

pretty funny really given break and entry, assault and threatening behaviour is already illegal, does any one think these offenders are really going to care?? and with such weak bail laws they would he back out offending within 24 hours,

hows this for an idea. what about policing the laws we already have ?

A mate of mine in Townsville had his place broken into a few months ago now. There were 4 of them and my mate is defo up for any altercation he can find. As he was chasing these fellows, one threw a terracotta plant pot at my mate. Cut through an artery as my mate was barefoot and his chase was over. Was left with a quick dash to the hospital. We'd probably ban flower pots.

yep, wouldn't surprise me, maybe the attacker done his back in lifting and throwing said terracotta pot, probably qualify for some kind of compo from the property owner?

It’s really fking hard given most if not all stations are understaffed.

When you catch an offender who has a decent amounts of warrants and you have to process them, it takes them off the map for patrols and not all stations process offenders. a remand can take up a whole shift to prepare depending on how much paperwork the arresting officers have to do. which then takes them off the map of receiving jobs putting the workload onto other stations patrol units.

they are all sick and tired of picking the same person up for the same crimes. and they are all sick of these bail laws because it is an infinite loop of work.

Agree, and i suspect they are sick of politicians making new laws that really dont even address the current issues rather than addressing whats actually broken.

i suspect it hasnt changed much given how many cars i see driving round with no rego plates unchallenged.

If you cut the shot out of the first two rounds and replace it with newspaper in one, then salt in the other I guess the third round could have whatever you want in it. (Then you just get done for the illegal pump action Winchester with the shortened barrel that you no longer own. Phew!!!)

Actually I think you could own a five round PA shotgun and if you loaded it that way ... but it'd still be locked in a gun safe in the shed so I dunno.

Yep. Or another garden impliment such as shears where you just happen to have the pivot bolt removed as you were sharpening it.
