Power has always been better than the eastern states. But yeah, in summer I have the aircon, pool pump, two fridges,, three adults and two kids. Bill tops $600 a couple of times, which hurts, but it could certainly be worse.The reduction has come about as a result of competition being introduced to the market
My latest power bill is $575 and that's pretty good for this time of the year. It's all relative though - I have five adults living here with a pool pump that runs for about 6hrs a day, two fridges, 2 aircons, 5 televisions and all the other appliances that go with 5 people living in a house. Power is cheap in WA so I have no intention of having a whinge but I do feel for people who don't have the same level of income we do and that utility bills are a constant source of pain
Water on average around $350 and I'm always amused when the water authority tells me that I'm using more than others that live in the area - considering on either side of me are single person homes, I'm not surprised.
