I strolled past on my lunch break and was amazed how many people were trying to get closer to get a better look.Wow thought it was our turn for terrorism just before, false alarm it seems.

People really need training on the difference between a suspicious package and an abandoned piece of junk.
I have seen the over reaction and panic time and time again.
There are signs for a real bomb, oil or chemical stains, strange wording on the box with no return address, strange smells, the container or bag placed in a location no one would would accidently leave it, sounds within the package and so one.
Or my favorite, when you kick it it does not explode.
for the young single guys, I'd recommend sweetwater bar if last Friday wasn't an anomaly

"It's an age thing. I am 70 years old, I have been married for 50 years and I think it's time to be with my wife, my family and my little dog, who is not so well," Mr de Velta said.
I can't remember the last time I watched the news or read a paper, it's all bullshit.

Some dude on TV said 'disabled child' instead of 'child with disability' and it's news. **** me.
Sounds like the 'journo' wasn't happy with that angle so kept digging until they got something a bit more sensationalist..
You're defining the child by the disability, like that is the most important thing about them, rather than just one feature of them. I understand why it upsets people with disability and people in the media are given advice on better terms to use. Given the organisation he was working with, it's just a bit insensitive, but it's not newsworthy. What the hell is wrong with saying disabled child? ffs this is why the news is best avoided and I hate you for making me aware of this.

Maybe, but it probably makes a difference to someone with a disability. Words do matter, and saying someone is disabled first and a child second rather than a child with a disability, is a small but significant difference. I thought at first that it was not that important a definition, but I also realised that it's no skin off my nose to choose the other phrase and if it makes someone feel better, what's the problem.Yeah I dunno about that. Seems like unnecessary pedantry from the Helen Lovejoys of the world.
