Does anyone else find that Transperth trains are frequent and reliable but inconsistent?

Unless there's a points failure or some other **** up (rare) there are always plenty of trains but they treat timetables 'more like guidelines really' (Keira Knightly voice). I've been to the station on the hour a few times and one day there's trains at 2 and 10 minutes past, the next day 7 and 10 minutes past, the next 10 and 12. Weird. It's not like any of the trains are cancelled, so why can't they just run at the same time all the time?

I noticed catching the train to and from the footy that they seem to be accommodating Perth commuter behaviour rather than trying to change it. Trains need to go in and out of Stadium Station quick smart and not hovering for an extra 30 seconds, a minute, another minute etc. because people are dawdling and hovering around the doors to each carriage. Close the doors and go, people will work out soon enough how trains work in other places.

I catch public transport and find they run very much to schedule EXCEPT when leaving Perth Stadium. I think I must of sat on the train for about 10 minutes and this was I think around 6pm, so well after the game while they waited for any stragglers. Didn’t really mind as I had nowhere to go but was bemused none the less

The same thing happened to us at the Australia v England ODI in January, we rushed to get on to one of the first trains and thought we'd done well to get out of there so quickly but then the train sat there for ages, it then moved at a snail's pace going back into the city so it still took us a long time getting home.

I'm going to the Freo v St Kilda game on Saturday night so I'm expecting I'll get home some time around midnight.

Enjoy the chorus of Purple Rain pumping out of the stadium sound system during the countdown to the bounce. Truly one of the most bizarre 'rev up song' selections I've ever witnessed.
Something like the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme would suit the Dockers much better.

I suspect you'll probably want to leave before half time.

I'm hoping we'll still be in the game until at least 3/4 time, we usually leave it to the last quarter to get blown away.

That's like a farewell song you'd play at the end of the night rather than a rev up song but I guess anything is better than Freo's theme song.

Also enjoy the seemingly never ending loop of the 'THUNDER' part of Thunderstruck that precedes..

PURPLE RAIN

PURPLE RAAAAAAIN

I'll see you in the Purple Ray-hay-hain.
