Talking on the phone isn't that bad. I don't consider having my phone on speaker sitting in the cup holder any different to having a proper hands free kit, though the law would say otherwise.

The problem is that 99% (made that up) of mobile use these days is visual. Texting, checking apps etc. I can't text and drive, I just can't do it and concentrate on the road at the same time.

if in cup holder you need to look away for about 2 seconds to swipe on to answer the call, and another 2 seconds to click on speak button
that's 4-5 second which is probably around 50m of travelling?!?

are those windscreen mounted phone holders legal? at least you are looking fwd when you do these steps?!?
I put my phone on airplane mode when in my car driving. no temptation

answering a call or checking who texted you are one thing, but why on earth do you need to be on facebook or snapchat or insta or anything like that while you're driving

For stuff like this

I love how people say revenue raising for traffic related fines. The cash from that is such a small amount, last time I looked it was less than $100m a year, the govt gets that from one weekend of home sales via stamp duty.

For me it depends. If cameras are in known trouble spots then I am all for it. If they are where there is never any accidents or won't be any then it is clearly revenue raising. I saw they had a camera on the freeway on/off ramp the other day somewhere NOR. You can't tell me that is not revenue raising.

Perhaps they put it where a lot of people speed. While I'm sure there are places where it's safer to speed than others, that's not how our law works. If you're speeding, you're doing the wrong thing. The more you get caught, the more you might modify your behaviour.

You just know that bullshit like this will happen when a small minority of people want it.

50kmph is fine for residential streets (they used to be 60)

Not sure what their source is for a 10kmph difference results in half the fatality rate...

I’ve just finished a mini rant about this poster.
The implication that, that many people regularly use that cycle path. What you see there is the total number that have used it since it was first put in - flipping joke of a thing it is and to then want to turn it into 40 - I understand the stretch between oxford and maybe the primary school - but everywhere else give me a break.

Too fast! We should switch our engines off and push our cars if we are in the same postcode as a Primary School. Nothing can to be too safe for our precious angels of the future xoxoxo

I bet they are the sort that appear on Today Tonight protesting shit like the opening of a bottle shop.

You mean Scarb Bch road between Charles and Oxford? I agree complete pisser, turning a 4 lane road into 2 so that 1 or 2 bikes a day can traverse it.

Don't get me started on no longer being able to access Hobart St anymore via a right turn or straight across from London St.

I would like to give it to them on their Facebook page but I prefer remaining anonymous :shoutyoldman:

The idea of closing Hobart and having the arrow at Loftus and Scabs was to cut down the through traffic as the number using it was a joke. People now use the arrow, turn left into Auckland, right into Haynes and go screaming past the child care centre instead to avoid the ridiculous give way at Charles

Every single change has resulted in a new issue

Bring back Howard Sattler I say!!!!

Is that peice of shit dead yet? Left Perth to make a crack of it and Sydney (from a studio in Perth) then ended up back on 5PR after getting something like 1.2% ratings. A complete scumbag.

Have only ever tuned into 6PR for live football.

Would rather put up with RTR FM than anything else on AM and FM.

RTR is good. By far the best out of an average bunch.
