It's really stuffed. Especially north of the river, Few places i deal with for work are going to go up against the wall really soon, two already did.

Transperth have put a new set of escalators in at the Elizabeth quay train station which is a long time coming but have now shut the other set of esclators down for extensive maintenance.

But the beauty of the new set of escalators is that about halfway down there is a massive concrete slab that if you are 6'1 or over you have to duck to make sure you don't split your head open. If you miss the concrete slab there is now a great big pane of class about 5m further on that you also have to watch out for.

Obviously after a few weeks of complaints, Transperth have now painted a yellow strip on the concrete to warn people they are about to get their head split open.

Seriously I want a piece of the escalator maintenance contract. The ones leading from EQ to the bus port were out of action for a good 6 months now the ones at EQ station are down. They only went in a decade ago, how much maintenance do they need? There are escalators elsewhere in Perth that have been in for much longer and they seem to work fine.
